Though this is a positive review, I have stuff i need to get out there before i move onto the positive, the game has many flaws but has proven to still be good.

As a player who has been part of the community since 2019, I have some concerns about certain aspects of the game. The frame rate can be a source of frustration, causing headaches and discomfort during extended play sessions. Despite having hardware that surpasses the recommended specifications, there are instances where joining community-made maps can result in less than optimal experiences.

Showdown, one of the game modes, seems to have its share of technical issues. It may feel like a poorly coded mess at times, with instances where players may not spawn with a weapon while the opposing team somehow manages to be armed to the teeth, with my team not being able to even pick up a damned gun. It feels like more of a tech demo of CV2, which is a hard coded mess in my opinion and also as someone who has worked with it, in my opinion showdown was not executed correctly.

When it comes to Recrally and its quests, it seems that there is a prevalence of younger players who might not fully grasp the concept of teamwork, leading to instances of friendly fire and disrupted gameplay experiences. Moreover, some community games may lack originality, especially in the PvP genre, and laser tag servers can be filled with both young players and foul mouthed high schoolers.

While playing with friends can still be enjoyable, the overall experience may be somewhat limited to quests and inventions. Lastly, the lore aspect of Rec Room is just a way to make money, you have the developers introducing random characters which are inconsistent with the lore, And oh golly! I love the event-exclusive 20,000 token necklace, $50 put to good use!

Most cosmetics are morbidly over-priced with a majority of the player base not purchasing tokens daily like a mad-man, The alternative would be Rec Room Plus, Which seems fair in comparison.

Now, let's shine a light on the bright side of Rec Room's creative community. One of the remarkable aspects of the game is the passionate and talented community that thrives within it. Players have the opportunity to unleash their creativity and showcase their imaginative skills through the creation of unique and captivating maps, inventions, and games.

The creative community in Rec Room is a melting pot of innovation and inspiration. Countless individuals pour their hearts and souls into crafting immersive and engaging experiences for others to enjoy. From intricate puzzle rooms to breathtaking visual spectacles, the creative potential knows no bounds.

Furthermore, the community encourages collaboration and the sharing of ideas, fostering a supportive environment where players can come together to create extraordinary projects. The sense of camaraderie and the eagerness to help one another in bringing their visions to life is truly commendable.

Exploring the vast array of community-made content in Rec Room offers players an endless supply of entertainment and surprises. It's a testament to the dedication and talent of the community members who continuously push the boundaries of what is possible within the game.

So, amidst all the criticisms, let's not forget to appreciate the incredible contributions of the creative community in Rec Room, for they are the ones who inject boundless creativity, innovation, and excitement into the game, making it an immersive and ever-evolving experience for all players to enjoy, VR headset or not.

Early Access Review
This is one of the few games with a battle royale mode which has remotely enjoyable mechanics.
