A game that keeps me coming back.

Destiny with all its flaws keeps me coming back with every expansion and game with it's amazing gun play and social mechanics. Whenever I am feeling bored I always can boot up Destiny and find something to do for a couple of hours.

The Pros:

- Amazing combat system: One thing that Destiny always seems to get right is the combat and feel of the game, I have yet to feel that the game is underwhelming in that sense even with the hundreds of hours I have across Xbox, Playstation, and PC. Even coming from Destiny 1 on consoles the game feels great especially with the new frame rate capabilities.

- Great with Friends: This really shouldn't be a pro as pretty much any game is at least better with a group of friends (I.e. Anthem, Fallout 76, etc.) but to get the "True" experience of Destiny you have to play with multiple people or friends to do activities such as raids. But when you do get a group of friends it's fun and one of the best experiences you'll have, just last week at the time of making this review I completed my first raid in Destiny 2 which was Leviathan. It was a blast and free to all new players as well.

- The Loot: The loot in Destiny 2 is by far one of my favorite aspects of this game. It never feels like you haven't gotten something that you won't use and gives me a rewarding feeling every-time I complete something like an Exotic quest line. I never feel a "Loot Drought" as I feel in some other games. The whole RNG aspect is a little annoying when it comes to raid exotics though, as I feel like those should just be given to you as a reward for completing the raid. Another thing is the length of some of these exotic quests, Thorn, for example takes a ridiculous amount of PVP time which is frustrating for someone that really doesn't play PVP that much. One last thing is the removal of Strike Specific Loot since Shadowkeeps launch, I feel it was an unneeded removal that just makes doing strikes all the more useless.

- Story rich lore: The story under what they tell you up front is honestly one of the most intriguing stories out there. I often spend some free time browsing the Grimoire and seeing the stories of past "Legends" in the destiny universe. It gives me a feeling that there is a greater universe than the one that I am currently playing. But having the story set in these grimoires has it's disadvantages as well.

The Cons:

- Poor Story Telling: My biggest complaint is that the story that is told within the Destiny Campaigns are often lack luster and miss their mark a lot. An example of this is the most recent expansion "Shadowkeep" which the story ends abruptly, different from what the other campaigns have done, and chooses to follow a path of "expanding story" in which more of the story will be released at later times. This leads to an abrupt and unfulfilling end to the progression as you have to wait for more of the story to be released which I do not like at all. This however would not be a problem after the campaign fully drops as all the content will be there immediately.

- Events: Don't get me wrong, some of the events in Destiny are actually fun to play such as The Dawning and The Festival of the Lost, but a lot of the actual rewards for these events are tied to micro-transactions such as armor ornaments and armor sets. This weakens the already small loot pool for participating in these events and leads me to only doing the special activities a few times then never touching them again. Another recent activity/event was the Vex Offensive Activity for Season of the Undying. This event was pretty good as it gave a wide array of loot in a short amount of time and a good way to farm "God Rolls" of weapons. This event was supposed to get a major update towards the end of the season which they hyped up a lot, but all that happened was that the final boss changed and that's it. Nothing else was changed from what I could tell. This just told me that the team at Bungie was really lazy as they felt that they didn't have to do as much with this season as it should "Go along with Shadowkeep" and not to be held as it's own paid for dlc.

-Conclusion: If you feel like trying this game out, then do it. It's completely Free to play until you get to the expansions and honestly you'll know if you like the game by that time. If you can overlook the poor story telling and the sometimes lack of care it seems from the developers then yea this game is just for you with its amazing gun play and activities that will steal you attention for multiple hours on end. This is a great game in my books and everyone should at least give it a try before putting it down.

At it's current state I rate this 8/10 with high hopes in the future.
