I bought this game for 5 dollars but you could buy 4-5 slurpees and it'd last longer than this. This game is a glorified demo. Main story mode you can beat in an hour. The plot consists of gritty stuff, (somewhat spoilers i guess) like the choking out of a kid and the onscreen "stomach surgery" of someone. (somewhat spoilers over) Can't wait to see what Phantom Pain Brings. The last sentence was sarcasm. Kojima trying to be all shock value like those weird Call of Duty missions. I've played almost every MGS except Portable Ops but I've never seen anything like that. That was really ridiculous. Experienced bugs with my mouse appearing and functioning outside of the game window during gameplay whenever i turned the camera or Snake refusing to stop moving unless i pressed the direction he was running at twice. These two don't happen constantly but they happen on occassion frequently and it is bothersome especially in a Stealth game like this.

It does feature good gameplay and cool graphics. Plus aside from the bugs I experienced it is a very good port. And for 5 bucks I guess this game isn't all that bad. I'd say I sort of got my money's worth. You might see me have like 10+ hours on this game but that's because I'm desperately trying to see "all the content" it offers... but you shouldn't waste your time on this. This is dumb. I am dumb for playing this. Now I know why it's called Ground Zeroes cause it has Zero content. Oh burn.
But I guess for 5 bucks you could try it out. Anything higher isn't worth it.

The main reason I dislike this game is because it follows the very commonly done formula of many FTP/MMOs, that is to say, players who do not want to dish out cash will be forced to grind and grind until they meet the necessary requirements to go onto the next level (in which they must do the same thing again).

At first, I thought Spiral Knights had a lot of promise. The art style is simply gorgeous, the playable characters, hell, EVERYTHING is adorable, the soundtrack was delightful and to top it all off it all had a huge Zelda influence. I thought this was going to be "Zelda: Four Swords The MMO", an aspect which got me very excited. Mostly because Nintendo didn't add online to the 3DS version of Four Swords.

This is not Four Swords the MMO. It is not fun. Combat is dreadful, especially by yourself on higher difficulties. In a nutshell, combat can be described as "hit and run" and repeat. There is no strategy involved, it's just a matter of paying attention and hoping the lag doesn't screw you over (this game lags a lot, at least for me and always at the worst possible times. I can't count how many times I've died because of it.) What makes matters worse is that if you die, you will need a material called "Spark of Life" to revive yourself so you don't lose all your things and can continue the mission. However, this material is very hard to find, but of course the only reliable way to obtain it is buying it with money. The only times I can tell you I legitamentally had fun are when I played with friends but then again, anything is fun with friends. You're probably saying, "since you suck at the game why don't you lower the difficulty bro?", well that's where the FTP structure comes in. Spiral Knights prevents you from progressing until your armor meets the minimum rank. In order to accomplish this, the game has a crafting system and you must collect the necessary materials and crowns (game's currency) in order to build the armor you need.

The problem is that the materials are extremely rare. These materials have a better chance of spawning on higher difficulties, but the drop rate is still low enough that you'll be forced to play the same mission again and again and again and again and again until you finally get what you need. This seems to get worse and worse as the more you progress, the better the armor the rarer the materials are. I assume this is how the FTP structure of this game works, to frustrate people enough to make them spend real money on these materials in order to progress. I can't really blame this, though, since a lot of free-to-play games do this sort of thing. Frankly, it's disgusting and makes for a bad videogame. I'd rather pay upfront for a game that won't give me BS than waste time doing something that's not fun and that I realize won't get me anywhere because the whole game will just be this.

I love the idea of Spiral Knights. I like the lore and the universe and it's characters and it's graphics. But this is a videogame, not a movie or a show so gameplay is the most important thing these sorts of things have to offer. And Spiral Knights offers bad gameplay. Maybe it'd be better off as a retail game or something, but this is just basic MMO design.

But, you can play this game without paying a single cent. Probably, I haven't finished it and I probably never will. You're just going to need to put up with repetitive, boring grinding to either find the materials or gather enough crowns to buy them off the market.

Unless you have a bunch of friends wanting to play this with you, don't waste your time on this.

this game sucks, theres no sprint, every class is bascially slow except scot but he is basicali worst class, he deals no damaj an has a reataded shotgun and baseball bat???? what???? and why cant I shoot thrugh windows?????? plus there is no aiming down your sights so the game forces u to hipfire and you have awful acurasy!! plus theres no killstreaks so i cant call in an ac130 or my pet wolves when i get like 30 kills in 1 life (which i do evry gaem btw) and theres NO ASAULT RIFLES. how am i supposed to kill with a needle gun??? i want golden ak47s not golden fring pans.... the graphcs in this gema are dumb the ar cartoony not reven realistic like what am i on disney channel why is this game rated m its like for little kids just looka t heavy he looks like a big panda!!!1 this game sucks once i tried to snipe a guy through window but i cant. this game doest now how real lief works. if this were a better fps game i would get a milion kills becos i would shoot through windos. but i cant. because this game sucks and aitn realistc. sldo al the wepons are dumb and not realistic. like how am i suposed to be a mercenary wen im trowing piss at pepol?? or when im using retarded wepons that shoot lasers........... plus there's nor egerenating health. you cant survive in thisg ame you die every 2 seoconsds because teh only class is that regenatrs is medic and medi c is THE WORST CLASS!!!!11!! you cant kill ANYTING with medic. all he dos is use dumb needle gun, it deals no damag so medic is basically just a "kill me im dumb" class dont play as him. oh that reminds me YOU CANT NOSCOPE IN THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 its awful really it is you cant' show all the noobs ur skill when you 360 noscope them becos the game is dumb and snipers only do damage when the lightenning bolt is full. so basically gameencouarajes u to hardscope and camp as sniper, game is badly desined becos it encourges no skill with snipers. if this were a better game i would get 100000000 kills by 720 noscoping n0bs through windows. but its not its a dumb game, no skill recired. also you only get wepons by buying dem or by wating for drop system to gvie them to you which is dumb, it enourajes doing noting not unlike i want to get my wepons by skill there should be credis and level up... also this game has no emblems???? and no clan tags................ this game is dumb honesti. its bad. plus theres no melee button, the melee weapons are all geven theyre own weapon, so if you want to knife ppl real quick u gotta switch........... so basiscally theres no point in melee cos by the time you switch you couldve alredy killed them with shoting............ theres no knives only dumb mele wepons like "bonesaw" and "fists" why would i use my fists in a gunfight??? game is dumb characters are dumb, only clas with knive is spy but spy is basically worst class, he daels no damag only good wen u r behind ppl and even then u cant stab unless not invisivlbe????? then whats the point???? ppl will se you behind them and they will shoot you?????? wow game is dumb 0/10
