incredible and fresh, the best extraction game ive ever tried. has an insanely addicting and deep skill progression both with your character and your mechanical ability.
be aware that the majority of negative reviews making this 'mixed' are from those who were complaining about the game being free to play which was a decision from the devs to try and accommodate more players. its not a 'demo' or free trial. you get the entire game minus the ultra high gear rating lobbies and the ability to sell on the marketplace (which are things you would have to have many hours in the game to feel like you need anyway). the devs even patched the game a few days after its release to allow free players to use the marketplace to buy high rated gear, just not sell things, which again you dont really need until youre minmaxing your profits - which generally is done after a large amount of time in the game.
the game can be cohesively and completely enjoyed entirely without paying anything as is

Dev team expect the players to make the game for them and don't care to listen to anything other than ravenously positive comments. Has the potential to be good one day but hard to see how we get there with their current attitude. So much needs fixing already, it's just super dry, feels like an entirely unfinished product they will likely abandon like their previous game once they realise people aren't biting on the concept of learning to code just to make the game somewhat enjoyable

I cannot believe this game has been out for as long as it has, and it still has no directional attacks other than a right side swing, a stab, and an overhead, that still look and feel incredibly janky and unsatisfying almost 2 years later. For some reason, they decided that you didn't need to swing from the left.

Genuinely one of the most ridiculous and infuriating design choices that I have ever seen, and it has absolutely ZERO benefit to the game, other than making it feel very tacky and unfinished. Very very disappointed, despite how fun it was to mess around with the physics, but because of this absolutely insane design choice you are stuck feeling like a default unity character with completely unfinished animations, and as such all the cool moments you might be imagining pulling off with the gore system look really really boring and unimpactful because of how insanely shoddy the animation looks for the swings. They have this weirdly smooth and hollow feeling to them that has absolutely no impact effects other than the gore. And with the incredibly, incredibly annoying restriction of 3 attacks total for ALL WEAPONS IN THE GAME.

Massive, massive shame. Literally all we would need is a 'flip attack angle' button, but for some reason, the developers decided you didn't need this and that their roguelike mode was more important than basic gameplay functions. Instead of fixing and improving the core gameplay, they just decided to forget about it and that it would be a better idea to make a difficult RNG mode with interesting weapons *that you can only do 2 attacks with*. This makes navigating that mode incredibly frustrating and repetitive, alongside the rest of the game once you've messed around with the physics a bit. It becomes a cycle of circle strafing, spamming your right attack (which has the exact same speed for all weapons) and throwing the occasional item. This restrictive gameplay loop makes almost all aspects of the game get incredibly boring and samey after about 3-4 hours. You might find yourself playing it every now and then for 20 minutes, but each time you will come away feeling dissatisfied and frustrated.

Such a shame. Don't invest your money here until they improve the core experience.

very very fun for a good five or ten hours, and then tapers off with a lack of any meaningful progression (at least it feels that way) and an unfun skill tree. nothing really feels like it has any value. the space stations are only different aesthetically and provide no difference in gameplay other than being a shop or mission hub. past a certain point you just feel like youre doing missions for the sake of doing missions, and the modular design of ships feels very random and thrown together and there never seems to be any coherence to any of the ships. there are really very few missions and not enough modifiers (save for 'clauses' which dictate how much you get paid) that alter missions on a dynamic front.

overall, id recommend as the dev is great and puts a lot of time and effort into what he does and it pays off, as it did with this game. its design and concept is very fresh and new to the industry just as Gunpoints was - just keep in mind at some point (unless youre a die hard completionist and love seeing things through to the bitter end) past the 10 hour mark youll hit a really hard progression wall thatll deter you from continuing the game any further.

fantastic game with amazing movement and speed. very high skiill ceiling which makes each victory feel earned and fulfilling. very generous level up rewards, incredibly appealing skins and beautiful, semi realistic graphics, coupled with memorable and AMAZINGLY animated characters (albeit horribly cheesy voice lines) make this one of my favourite arena/hero shooters of all time.

and for those who think this is comparable to overwatch - they are completely different games. the only similarity this shares with OW is the hero choice. this game relies much more on player skill and reaction time than the rock paper scissors aspect of overwatch, which makes dying feel much less cheap. buy this while its in its infancy - these devs need all the support they can get, as theyve made an awesome game :)

dont let this game die!
