The game is making great progress. I can not recommend this game however. The discord is a nightmare. At the time of writing this review, half of the moderation team is 15-16 year olds, running around like they own the place. Unless the community comes around, I can't see the game having a stable community. The moderation team is almost like a dictatorship, like they are above the rules. Everything they do is right, and almost everything you do is wrong. I can not recommend this game based solely on the progress itself. There is hardly a community around it.

EmergeNYC, where do I begin? This game has been out for well over three years. Over the course of those three years, 4 different maps have been released. Instead of working to fix the first map, Manhattan, the developers, Raf and Donut, decided to work on other maps. At it's current state, this game is... well.. not worth it. A lot of things have been promised, and not delivered on.

There are still many bugs, and glitches which ruin a player's experience. The required hardware to run the game is quite demanding too. The lead developer had to upgrade his computer to run his own project, and instead of keeping the old set up to test on lower end specs, he sold/raffled the parts off. This game is more demanding on your computer than most popular games today. Having too many trucks or people in a multiplayer lobby cause horrendous lag, FPS wise.

Another reason why I refuse to recommend this game, is the community around it. The EmergeNYC discord is one of the most toxic and hostile places to be. The constructive criticism channel is only for positive feedback. Any feedback too negative gets deleted. There have been instances where the developer himself, Raf, has told members that he does not care, and can leave. That's really nice coming from the lead developer. The staff team, for the most part, is hostile too. 95% of the staff team is just friends of Raf, using a friendship to get a staff position. Raf can't take the responsibility of hiring professional staff, but rather friends.

The staff team is just as informed as the members themselves. They have no information about updates, or bug fixes. The communication between the staff, members and developers is severely lacking. This is one key factor to whether a project succeeds.

Sadly, Steam will not allow me to refund this game. If I could, I would. It is not worth the money, nor will it ever be.
