It's literally Half Life 2.

Amazing fun. The best way I can describe it is: SCP Containment Breach with the aesthetic and setting of Half Life 1, with the gameplay of a sort-of simplified first person Project Zomboid.

The graphics are a stylized feature, and not at all a representation of the game's overall quality. The weapons, materials, crafting recipes, etc, they all make sense and even the models of the most basic makeshift weapons like the crossbow are so impressive for how they could almost be replicated in real life.

People talk about this game's quality, most specifically the quality of its animations and voice acting and graphics, sometimes even the story, in a negative light because they're used to triple-A games with up to a hundred or more people actively working on it. Some games have an entire animation department, an entire voice acting department, an entire story department.

To quote an Iron Man movie line, "Tony Stark was able to build this in a cave with a box of scraps!"

That's how I view this game. For one man to make a game of this quality all on his own? The only outside help he probably had being non-professional voice actors? This game is a love letter to the Armored Core games. It reminds me of Project Wingman and how it's a love letter to the Ace Combat franchise. This game is absolutely worth the full price if you're a fan of mecha games, and if you're not, then get it on sale. I happened to be a fan of mecha games, and I was able to get it on sale, but I can confidently say that I would have paid full price for the game.

To double back on the story-- I get that it's not the most sensical thing, but you have to suspend your disbelief for games. I did that, and I've absolutely enjoyed the story. I'm excited to see where future DLC and sequels might take the fight against the Reds. I just have the final Operation: Ascalon DLC mission to complete, Suez.

Reviewing this as positive because the issue with Sony and PSN has been fixed. It won't be a requirement anymore according to a tweet sent out by the official PlayStation twitter account. To all fellow Helldivers, please alter your reviews back to positive because we've won.

This game does what every person should want to do: Nuke California. *And it does it twice!*

Truly one of the games of all time, and a good one at that. In all reality though, I had a lot of fun playing this. The gameplay is fun, the soundtrack is absolutely godlike (Jose Pavli is amazing), and the amount of warcrimes I committed, and saw committed, is off the charts.

The gameplay is tough, but fun when you get the hang of it. Expect to die, a lot. If you're looking for a more casual, easy experience then this game isn't it, but if you're someone like me who likes a challenge in video games, this is one of the best experiences out there.

The story, while occasionally nonsensical at times, is great too, and even if you're an entirely new individual to the Armored Core series (like me) you don't need to know any prior lore. The story seems very self-contained in that regard, explaining the few similarities between it and previous installments, and then creating its own identity after that.

Overall a 10/10. Still on NG+, but you can believe I'll be trying to 100% this game.

The economy in the game is terrible. Gaijin's attitude about our complaints is even more terrible.

This game is old, yes. It's outdated, yes. But it was also a part of my childhood, and when I saw that it was available on Steam, I had to purchase it. As perhaps the second game I ever played, the first of which was the original DOOM, this game will always have a fond place in my heart.

I guess it's okay. PLEASE SAVE ME FROM THIS GAME
