Bendy and the Ink Machine is my Favorite game ever, and I have finally decided to put effort into writing a review.

-----------------
OVERVIEW: You play as an Old Animator, coming back to a Studio he co-founded 30 years ago, but after discovering a strange Machine, you end up having to delve further into the Abandoned Studio. finding it has been completely changed, with Horrid Ink monsters of characters you had originally designed.

You Combat these monsters by your own hands, solving puzzles and collecting items, you run from all that is unholy. On a quest to escape the Studio, it slowly delves into Saving everyone, as you discover something much darker about yourself than you could have ever imagined.
-----------------
GRAPHICS

BATIM prides itself on its graphics, while still remaining modest and rather amateur.
It covered head to toe in Hand drawn textures, Stylized Models, Amazingly structured Scenery, all coated in a Sepia-toned filter

Early on in the game, the Yellow is extremely jarring, but you quickly get used to it, with it even changing the tones of the Yellow the further into the game you go.

Its characters are AMAZINGLY designed, and I think houses some of the best designs in the Indie Horror genre, with Quirky rubber-hose characters, to Frankenstein-inspired Experiments, to Demonic Beasts with Crooked Smiles, it houses everything a "Old Cartoons come alive" game could have

though in later chapters, it lacks the quality of textures from previous chapters, and it has a same few set of textures it uses everywhere, becoming EXTREMELY noticeable in later playthroughs

GAMEPLAY

I love BATIM to death, but I wont ignore its Gameplay is EXTREMELY lackluster

the First Chapter consists of nothing but walking, until you do one puzzle, about two fetch quests and a bit more walking until the chapter ends, the Second Chapter has two the three fetch ones, two really fun puzzles, and more walking, but it introduces slow and dull combat, this goes on for another three chapters

BATIM never really introduces fun and thought out puzzles until later in the game, with everything before-hand relies on slow walking, dull combat, and long fetch quests

I myself am not to bothered by this (I mean check my playtime lol) but I get the "Walking Simulator" genre is not for everyone, and I do this it is objectively bad. If you don't care much for gameplay, and enjoy Visuals and Story then you don't have to worry about it!

AUDIO

I. LOVE BATIM's audio and sound design, some of the best i've seen from the Genre,

BATIM's world is covered head to toe in Ink, so instead of including Ink within the ambient track, the Ink simply comes from places where ink is present, and this is also the case with Heavy Machinery which tends to lay within all the walls.

This ends up leaving you with a heavily contrasted Ambiance, that only changes when you move around but also leaving it all to blend together and feel extremely curated and connected.

This does leave the game to sound a little bland though when locked away in larger areas with less detail, especially when there's rarely any Music playing, and instead just distant wind sounds.

VOICE ACTING

This one will be shorter because im not all too sure what to say:
the Best of the voice acting comes from the Alice characters, but other than that, its all extremely below average.

its never BAD, but always strange and almost cringey.
though a lot of it is "Performance-like", as if it was some sort of band class, which I do think fits with the whole Cartoony theme everything has.

-----------------
MUSICAL SCORE

BATIM's ost is incredible, but small and spread out wide.
My favorite Tracks are

-Stories
-Death of a Friend
-Standing Together
-the Ink Demon
-Nobody knows the Trouble I've seen

Which ALL give an amazing representation of how not only the game feels, but just by how it presents itself.
Its all very eerie and orchestral, using mainly deep bass drums, and a lot of Piano and Violin.

It gives an obviously intentional "LARGE" and Religious feel, like if you were within a huge empty cave or large church, which a lot of BATIM locates itself in. So the Music does its job right

though a lot of tracks aren't very "listenable" Like UNDERTALE or Sonic, there's not many where you can turn on and expect just an actual song, a lot of Tracks are made to fit certain vibes and moments, so they don't stay consistent throughout the song, which is totally okay.

-----------------
CHARACTERS

BATIM has A LOT of Memorable characters, leaving A LOT of Fan Favorites.
all of the characters have distinct and original designs, and all heavily contrast each other despite the limitations of the game's art-style.

Rarely two characters will look the same unless they're grouped together, or are purposely connected.

Most characters leave an uncomfortable feeling, with their eerie Rubber hose, lifeless apsects, or "Cartoon-ishly Gorey" Physique, always having hand-drawn textures but covered with Black Ink and Disgusting Body parts

-----------------
STORY

BATIM's story is AMAZING, I've taken all my time to dissect and solve it.

the storytelling is quite vague and strange, so I don't blame anyone for not understanding it from a first playthrough.

BATIM uses a lot of Symbolism and Abstract Concepts to get points across, rather than just telling you with I think is extremely artistic and beautiful in a lot of cases, while the actual main story itself isn't bad either.

BATIM was a first attempt though, so there WERE Retcons and Changes in later releases, but BATIM's main themes still go strong throughout the rest of the story, and even then the Themes in BATIM (regardless if changed or not) are still WITHIN BATIM, letting you enjoy the never-the-less

OVERVIEW 2: BATIM is a swell experience for the average player, and an Amazing experience for those who love any of themes present in it, with a very historical take on its story, with its goofy humor and unsettling take on Rubberhose cartoons, it is easily my favorite game every, with the series itself ALSO being my favorite series ever

If you're seeing this after Playing the game, I recommend;

"BENDY AND THE DARK REVIVAL"
The Sequel of BATIM, with a whole new tone and set of characters. It takes years after as you play as a Girl Named Audrey, you enter the world of The Studio. With a whole new remastered take on its Storytelling, Gameplay, and Visuals. It is viewed as the "DEFINITIVE" Bendy experience

"BORIS AND THE DARK SURVIVAL / BENDY: LONE WOLF"
a Spinoff of BATIM / BATDR, Originally made as a mobile teaser for BATDR, it holds lore and secrets for the series, with a fun gameplay loop. As well as its planned to have a whole new remaster update some time this year!

"BENDY: THE CAGE"
unreleased as of writing this, its another Spinoff title. taking place DURING the events of BATDR, where you finally play as Henry again (protagonist of BATIM), Escaping some form of prison. Heavily combat focused, it seems to be a Rogue-like, Psychological Horror game, with alot of Blood and Mystery

"BENDY: THE SILENT CITY"
unreleased as of writing this, its another Spinoff title. We have little to no details on it, but we DO know it is rated Mature. some form of Shooter game with a Black|White|Red aesthetic, with extremely Cartoony designs but with blood and gore
