Firstly, this game absolutely nails 2 things. Exploration, and "game feel". The world is stunning, interesting, and so much fun to explore. On top of that the feeling of running around, rolling, sneaking, and using weapons is fantastic! I found climbing the long-necks to be one of the most unique and cool aspects of the game

With regards to the story, it's OK. On the good side, I was surprisingly satisfied with the explanation for why things are the way they are. There wasn't any moments I was like, 'but, why?' (which I was expecting with such a weird world). However, despite how interesting the world is, the actual campaign story is just okay. It honestly spends too much time trying to explain all the lore, and setting up a totally uninspiring final boss, and not enough time fleshing out any interesting characters and locations in the world. Regardless, Aloy is a likeable character, and there are at least a few good story beats (the prologue is also nice).

Where this game feels the weakest is in boss fights. Thankfully, there aren't many, but the ones that do exist shoot themselves in the foot by making the enemies massive. The fights ultimately come down to you just hiding and shooting as many arrows as you can into 1 or 2 places for about 10-15 minutes. The mid-teir enemies (like the t-rex thing) are far more fun and challenging since they chase you down and you actually need to react.

Finally, a small nitpick I have with the game is combat variety. The game has enough ideas for enemies and a few different ways to fight them, that you can get through the game without it getting too repetitive. However, this game struggles with a common game design challenge, where the player will find the more efficient way to fight enemies, and once they do, they will never have any real reason to change. I found that I reached that point around 3/4 of the way through, which isn't bad, but having some more options for melee would have been nice. Your mileage may vary..

Overall fantastic game, easily 8/10 maybe 9/10 for me

It's alright

The game is very short. It took me about 5-6 hours to beat. There are other modes and reasons to replay the story, but they don't interest me (you may differ)

I didn't expect much from the story, but even with what it had, I was somewhat disappointed. It feels like it ends a bit too early. I feel like the game could have used 1 more act to wrap things up. It also would have been nice to have a level that takes you outside of the tower

Game-play wise, the core mechanics are great! They nailed the level navigation and dodging mechanics. However the 'skill tree' and additional abilities you unlock later on feel pretty pointless. I only found myself using them when I would get stuck on a level.

The last point I'll make is that this game can get frustrating. I think that's to be expected with this kind of game, but when you start dying to things that feel unfair or glitchy, you stop having fun. Luckily this only happened a handful of times.

Overall, this game can be a lot of fun, but with the amount of content, I wouldn't recommend it at full price. I'd pick it up on sale

(I have over 31 Hours on the game on Origin)

This game was my only reason to load up origin, i love it so much! it's aesthetically beautiful, super relaxing, and so underrated!

The story campaign is nice, but this game is really the kind of game you play when you want to relax put on a podcast and just run around in a beautiful neon city...

For those wondering what to expect; this is a VERY completionist kind of game. The campaign take less than 8 hours to beat if your going at a regular pace, but there's many hours of challenges and side missions to beat, which can keep you occupied for many many more hours (wouldn't know exactly how many hours, since i never beat them all!). These include story side missions, time trials, collectables, and some combat missions.

On top of that are runs called "dashes" with online leaderboards, which can be pretty fun to compete in. These runs involve getting from 1 area of the city to another. Unlike other challenges in the game, the dashes really challenge you to plan out your own unique route and attempt to execute it for the shortest time! If you get really into this (like it did) you can look up a tutorial on bunny hopping and go for that "TOP 1%" for each run!

the city is huge, has a tone to explore, and the scenery is beautiful. Now that the game is on Steam, I'll be going for that 100% completion!

Is nothing else, this game should be overwhelmingly positive for the incredible level of dedication the developers had in rectifying and redeeming the initial promises and trust players had with them.

Pros:
- Tornados

Cons:
- Literally everything else

Biggest issues i have with the game:
- No C4 and grenades
- Finicky, anoyying, ♥♥♥♥♥♥ grapple hook modifying system that forces you to pause the game to use normal grapple hook abilities that are otherwise very fluid and natural to use in JC3.
- BAD menu navigation and key binding system. This wouldn't annoy me so much if it wasn't SO MUCH BETTER in JC3.
- No liberation of areas like in JC3. Feels kinda lame just moving troops and auto crapuring areas.

Just cuase 3 is a far superior game in every way. New to the series? play just cause 3.

Although! I must also say this; The graphics in just cause 4 ARE better then the graphics in just cause 3. The cut scenes in JC4 are prerendered crap, but the game itself looks really nice, much better than JC3. I dont know why people are hating on the grphics, beacuse they are nice. JC4 also has some clear improvements in the parachute and wingsuit making them feel more fluid and friendly than in JC3.

First Impressions! I'll give an actual score out of 10 when i finish the game

First thing is a warning to anyone who purchased the "croft" or "deluxe" editions. I’m a big fan of progression in games, and these editions of the game will start you off with 3 skills pre-unlocked, 2 outfits that provide extra perks and benefits, a bloody bow with maxed out stats, and a shotgun and pistol with much higher stats. I really hate this, so I recommend unticking the individual DLC (e.g. "Skill booster pack" DLC) before launching the game!

Graphics are a decent upgrade from rise of the tomb raider (RTR), and the game still run perfectly! At 3440x1440 at MAX graphics with a gtx 1080, I get a solid 50-60 FPS. The performance is about the same as RTR, which is good! (see my screenshots for examples of awesome graphics!)

The gameplay is more or less the same as RTR. There is a solid progression system, a semi-open world to explore, a 100% completion system, optional tombs, bows, guns etc. I haven’t seen anyway that the gameplay really differs from RTR yet. (There are a couple new things that arent that amzing, like covering yourself in mud for camo).

The story so far is cool. I think I like where it is going more than RTR. That being said, I think RTR had a stronger opening in terms of both story and gameplay. Something I found annoying; the game does the cliché "2 days earlier" ♥♥♥♥ at the start of the game. Please never do this in any story of any kind ever. It's a dumb way to start a story, and just shows that you don’t have no faith in the actual beginning being compelling.

So far, I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed RTR!
