Early Access Review
OHD has potential, but it's such a bare-bones tech demo at the moment. No objective feels satisfying in the gameplay; everything feels boring. It's not a realistic tactical shooter by any means; it's arcadey yet somehow doesn't feel satisfying at all.
In OHD's current state, I wouldn't recommend it when there's many better options than it. I understand that a small "community" made a "free game" but what's a free game if it's not fun?

My main concern is about OHD's modding accessibility.
To start, there is absolutely no freedom of choice over weapons from different eras, you can't mix-and-match anything. Considering that it's marketed as a "sandbox shooter", this is a huge letdown to what I expected it to be. All those cool weapons in those mods and gamemode changers are put to waste as you can only use 1 faction, 1 gamemode/mutator at a time.
Therefore, mods can't be played together simultaneously.
To top that off, the OHD developers expect people to make all mods using a SDK on the EPIC GAMES LAUNCHER which requires wasting hours learning it, and it requires 150GB (yep) of disk space!
I still remember the time I asked the developers if I could customize factions more easily, and the only thing they responded was "Do it yourself". Alright, but barely anyone has any experience with Unreal Engine 4 modding. and obviously people don't have spare time to just access this extremely bulky, inconvenient tool.

Something that all games need to have a successful modding community is a solid foundation to start modding, and an accessible, easy way for players to download mods and play with multiple mods at the same time.
OHD has absolutely none of that. It's disappointing to see how this game boasts its modding potential while it presents the antithesis of modded games. It has no future if it stays like this.

Despite my negative comments, I wish the best to the devs to make this game actually enjoyable for more than a few minutes. However, progress through the past year has been minimal - nothing has changed and they will hold back promises of introducing fundamental things to the game for years, expecting the "community" to make it when nobody has incentive to do so in the game's current state.

I do not recommend playing OHD, because it's NOT what anyone does to make a game moddable. They expect the community to make everything when the actual community is so bare-bones and the game is a abysmal platform for modding.

wart hunder is a game that I didn't expect to be so fun at first.
In terms of PVP games, I usually prefer FPS games. Something that involves only vehicles and no infantry combat didn't intrigue me at first. I gave it a shot after hearing from others, and I was instantly into the game.

So why is it fun?
The feeling of controlling a historical warplane, tank, or ship, the satisfaction of utilizing such a hunking machine against opponents in an intense battle, and the very detailed environmental visuals and graphics (and optimization!) of the game and the three main things which keep me playing War Thunder.

There are "arcade", "realistic", and "simulator" battles for a wide variety of scenarios. So far, I've mainly been just playing air arcade battles, and I have tried some realistic battles before.

The grindy progression (and partial pay-to-win) of War Thunder has been said to be a drawback, though if you're just playing it for casual fun then I would definitely recommend it. It's free, so give it a try and you might find it as fun as I do.

At its heart, RimWorld is just a basic 2-dimension survival game in which you build your own colony and deal with others in a procedurally-generated world and story, from only a few starting colonists and materials.

When you start, you can choose the difficulty that fits your playstyle. What makes it extremely fun and addicting is the amount of things that you have to manage (e.g. logistics, buildings, moods, priorities, handling raids, random events, etc.) and the satisfaction of watching many things get done at once without noticing. In a way, Rimworld bridges the gap between having to manage everything and idling. All that has to be done is only to assign colonists to certain jobs, then they'll commence everything for you. If something goes wrong (or whenever you demand), then colonists can be manually controlled to do specific urgent jobs. Almost everything in the game can be planned up to your own decisions as you wish.

The base game's good enough, but the mods bring it quite a lot better. The Workshop has almost everything you can think of for this game - from weapons to quality of life improvements.

In conclusion, I'd strongly recommend Rimworld for anyone looking for a game with lots of possible replayablility, and for one that they can relax along but also have tense, action-filled moments along the way.

A detailed, "historically accurate", and fun game taking place in WW2. It's definitely the best grand strategy game out there, and the mods are great.

Duck Game is extremely fun with friends, worth that full price but snatching a deal would be better.

With a humorous atmosphere surrounding the game, I've had countless laughs playing with my friends. A 2-8 player fast-paced game along with many interesting weapons and physics, there isn't anything bad to say about it. The community-made maps are quite nice sometimes if you're bored of the vanilla ones. The Sega Genesis-inspired soundtrack is actual eargasm (for me) and worth listening to as you play, and all made by the same developer of this game!
(Also, quacking and throwing dead corpses are both cool features of this game.)
Being able to run on nearly every machine (except Macs) as such a light game, it's much better when played with friends. Playing it by yourself with random's would be very hard as lobbies are usually empty nowadays.

For the simple yet ingenious game design and the joy this game has brought me, I would definitely recommend Duck Game.

An interesting two-dimensional version of the original Counter-Strike, and it's free. I'd recommend you to try it out. However it's nothing that much nowadays, considering that CS:GO is now also free, has a much larger playerbase, and has more mechanics in the gameplay.

I recommend it to those looking for a simple top-down shooter experience.

There is simply nothing will ever replicate the experience that Gmod offers.
The game technically has no goal - you can build or create anything, or witness and participate in others' creations with the community servers that the playerbase, which is still thriving to this day, has to offer. There's way too many multiplayer gamemodes, but roleplay and TTT tend to be the most popular types of servers.
Surely, the game hasn't been as good as in it's former years but it still has an active playerbase. A large part of why the game stays reasonably popular is because of the mods, in which Gmod is an insanely moddable game, hence the name, with mods submitted and originating through the Steam Workshop. The mods can manipulate anything and add new objects to the game.

It's a short review for now but there's a reason for it other than my lesser amount of hours played - it's really up to you to decide what you want the game to be. Who knows, maybe one day I'll get bored and start playing this game again.
