so amazing... basically if you took my wish-list from other farming games (down to the UI) and made it real.

incredible, lived in dialogue. insane amounts of dialogue. varied dialogue, progressing dialogue. adore the characters... esp the bachelor/bachelorettes, but even more so the other npcs... which is rare for this kind of game. i cant even begin to chose a marriage candidate...
the npcs have varied schedules and they all interact in believable, fun ways. the kids are especially fun in their routines!! i have yet to figure out any ones daily routine, and i adore this!! (this is OK because there is a built in npc map feature)
i find myself actually role-playing at the friday town meet-ups, and buying a drink/dinner with the town, and relaxing.... hehehe...

obviously sweet visuals... the story is intriguing without stepping on your toes or freedom. i like the broader geopolitical aspects/thoughts that some of the characters have about trading/the capital, and the town star system.
the skill progression system is satisfying and rewarding, etc. as is the museum system!!
i especially love that you get rewarded in lvls for crafting decorative items, which prevents me from hoarding until the end of the game to decorate my farm ... the progression feels much more satisfactory.
the cooking system also functions like this, which prevents me from min-maxxing a recipe for health/money, what have you... forces me to cook a variety of foods, which also helps me level, and is cute in general...

the cosmetic system is wonderful!!!!! cosmetics are unlock-able (like treasure troves and recipes) and then are accessible through a menu tab in every color variant. a perfect solution to the issue that a lot of these games face w many items.
OMG the recipes are even "lived in!" you get sent recipes in the mail for shipping certain crops, or recipes from bringing a part of that recipe to an NPC for a quest.

just wonderful overall...... and so so polished!!!
very excited for the updates, as i can see very clearly in game how they will be laid out !!

I have, easily, like, seventy tabs open every time I play Stardew Valley. This game is dense with content, great music, and art! The themes for each season feel homey and warm. I have been playing this game from 2016-2021, and it has not lost its charm. I love the animal sprites, the characters, the collections... playing with friends is so much fun!! Who doesn't love grandpa's silly little cot? . . . you rarely find something as handcrafted and well-loved as Stardew Valley! :D
