This game has reinvented itself in so many ways since the first time I played it.
It's always been fun with friends, and the way it encourages synergy between party members means that everyone can be useful while having fun. Despite being comprised of relatively simple mechanics, they all mesh together to become a pretty intense experience.
I've often joked that this game is a minecraft clone, but it's actually a lot more rewarding in terms of seeing the progress of you and your group from a bunch of hobos running around with spears to a biker gang with a custom - built castle swarming with sentry guns. Coerce 3 or 4 friends to play for an hour or two every night for guaranteed fun and a really solid survival experience.
