It is clear that the developers put a lot of love into this game. The soundtrack is ensaring and atmospheric. The artwork is pixel perfect. Gameplay is quite clever; as you master mechanics, more are introduced to you, causing puzzles to layer upon themselves. It's hard to say much else without spoiling the experience, but suffice it to say this: Braid is mindteasingly-awesome. It will frustrate you, but likewise it is very rewarding. If you are an aficionado of puzzle platformers, look no further.

UPDATE:
This is the kind of game that can be played by generations to come and would still be as compelling as the day it came out.
The puzzles are rewarding and build upon past experiences. It's a case of show-don't-tell where you ease your way into more difficult situations. The game may seem like it is reusing assets but instead a familiar area may be turned on its head with new puzzle mechanics. It toys with your expectations and challenges your ability to innovate. The game is also very rewarding and well paced despite its short run time. The artwork has a timeless quality and the music is charming. I still hail this as an excellent title even years after its release.

UPDATE:
This game still stands the test of time eight years later.

Excellent character development and story. Some mechanics grow stale and rote, particularly the platforming elements. Puzzles are fair, fun, and fresh. Quick time events are frustrating and result in multiple restarts. Enemies are rather unintelligent at times, but are quite threatening early in the game. This results from an ever growing combat system full of augmentation. In the end, your weapons develop past the static threat of enemies. For the OCD gotta-catch-em-all fetch questers... this game is loaded with goodies. You'll be searching quite a few nooks and crannies for achievements. Overall, a great reboot that is compelling, dark, and motivating to play.
