A great game, but as of now the original is still the superior product simply because of the amount of content.

Early Access Review
This game is pretty easy to recommand: Its quick high adrinaline gameplay boosted by the comedic effects of silly goats. The gunplay is diverse and feels right, and dead usually feels pretty fun.

As someone who did his best to help the game by maintaining the wiki and keeping an unofficial patch notes (because those of the developers were filled to the brim with mistakes) I can officially say that I don't recommend you to buy this game. The game is as well optimised as a broken doge and the AI has been constantly swinging between passable and glitching through walls and doors. The development itself has been filled with broken promises and mismanagement and some of the stuff being added right now was already in game back when I played but got randomly removed to be added as a "Feature" again.

This game is an underrated gem and the perfect example of appropriate for all ages. It can be a cute and innocent game if you give it to a kid, or a true dark humour and chaos game when you give it to an adult. Fun for everyone.

First things first: I haven't enjoyed a Total War game since medieval 2. So imagine my surprise when I picked up this game and found out that I am actually having tons of fun with it.

One part of it is the fun over the top magic system, allowing you to rain down terror on the enemy lines with everything from meteors and lighting storms to Zombie crab hoards and magical boats.
Another part is the amount of detail and care put into each faction, giving them all an unique play style and fun tiny details. Which just plays to my world builder's heart.

However when you buy this game, you should add the blood for the blood god DLC for the true guttural mayhem experience.

Honestly didnt really enjoy it, The shooting and looting is kinda mindless and the way multiplayer works your friends basicly ruin the game for ya with their stat.

I must say that this is one of my favourite Grand Strategy games of all times. The levie mechanic allows my dumb brain to be viable without worrying about building troops and the RPG mechanics make me really feel for every life I live in this game. Educational and entertaining for people interested in medieval politics or political geography.

Every story this game tells is glorious and unique. In one game I became a religious maniac with a god complex who struggles with the choose between letting your son join a holy order or securing the succession while in another I played as a warlock High queen that went from a petty queen to uniting all of Ireland and Wales under her rule and died as the high priestess of Satan having regular orgies at her 90th year.
And sometimes even npcs can have glorious stories, like the Hindu conqueror Jagdeva the great of Jagdevaia from house Jagdevid. Who grew up learning about the Mediterranean from a Greek servant that raised him as her own, after which he slew a mighty beast and gather an army of followers, with who he ended up conquering Italy, the coast of Barbary, and parts of Greece, and eventually died by just being sawed in half in some way or another. and this all happened while I was distracted in Ethiopia.

All in all a great game for people who like RPG's, medieval settings, super weird ♥♥♥♥, and letting in their inner crusader.

One of the greatest RPG's around when you install the must have fan-patch. Otherwise its a mess.
Levelling system is also really great with a reward in the form of skill points instead of XP, and more games should use it in my opinion.

Saying to much is already spoiling it so I will just give you the bullet notes:

* Once generic cover based shooting has become fun and unique again in 2018
* Using the environment as weapon is more than just a one level gimmick
* Your squad is actually useful and you will care for them
* The story really shows what games can do as an art form

I could even recommend you letting your dad play through this game.
