Terrible storywriting, terrible pacing, extremely boring quests the entire way through. Just gathered these 5 flowers? nice, how about you go talk to these 5 people that you don't care about & will never see again :) After that, go walk to the other side of the map to talk to 3 more people :))

Voice acting is subpar, especially for the supposed main character of the Dawntrail story. Trying to traverse the new maps is like trying to find your way through the Himalayan ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ mountains, and places where you think you can jump off of (and be at your target location way faster), you face invisible walls, well ♥♥♥♥ you then square! Some maps have bad aetheryte placements as well, forcing you to walk from one side of the map to the other and sometimes all the way back again BECAUSE THERE IS NO AETHERYTE NEAR THE QUEST!!

Jobs (especially healers) have been so homogenized in Dawntrail that there is literally no difference between them anymore. Healer level ups literally have not had any impact on your gameplay on healer since Shadowbringers. Every level up is just 'Skill X gains one more charge', 'Skill Y gains 20 potency', 'Duration of Skill Z's effect is increased by 5 seconds'. Classes like Astrologian and Monk have been reworked so many times that they've completely lost the identity they once had, and square STILL DOESNT KNOW WHAT TO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ DO WITH THEM. In Stormblood, Astrologian had different effects for each of their cards. They could augment the effects of their cards, due to their RNG mechanics every pull felt different, there was risk vs reward. Monk had the identity of having different rotations it could follow; it wasn't bound to a single flow, it could adapt to fights easily. Now it's just a reskin of every other 1-2-3 combo class in the game. It's lost it's identity.

The gameplay pressure that the game once exerted at a good level (Shadowbringers/maybe Endwalker) has been watered down so much that you can just alt tab every GCD and be completely fine, missing 0 damage on the boss. Just delete half the classes at this point because obviously you can't introduce any form of innovation anymore. After being a diehard Astrologian main for 6 ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ years, I can't take it anymore. ♥♥♥♥ you square

Since I've finished this game after many, many hours of CBT, I can finally write a review about it.

First off, this (hard as ♥♥♥♥) game is a madhouse simulator. You're basically trying to farm energy from a bunch of psychotic monsters called abnormalities (like SCPs) that are about as stable as my last relationship and just like exes - unpredictable and dangerous. All abno's can ruin your life if you don't pay attention, each of them having their own risk level and a set of (initially hidden) rules or guidelines that you are asked to follow to make sure they don't escape and/or kill your personnel. Later on, any 'accidents' in your facility can lead to a chain reaction of death and decay which will force you to restart the day (sometimes causing you to waste 20-40 minutes :D). Btw, for the true ending you'll have to restart YOUR ENTIRE RUN once or more since it requires you to have researched ALL abnormalities! ALSO, RNG CAN BE A ♥♥♥♥♥.

This game is a real ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ excercise in patience, and frankly I would not recommend anyone play it. BUT, if you do decide to go through all the pain and hardship... you'll find yourself strangely rewarded. The story is great and is surprisingly deep and intricate. Every abnormality feels unique, and seeing your facility grow in size and complexity over time feels like you're always progressing. The music goes mega hard. There are mods out there that either fix bugs, add some QoL, new abnormalities and armour/weapons, etc.

In the end, LC isn't just about surviving through all the days; it's about embracing the insanity that goes with it. It's a rollercoaster ride through a nightmare that you (eventually) can't help but enjoy. It's stressful, it's overwhelming, but damn, it's satisfying.

Although I'm sad that it ended, it was worth it.

Great game. You choose what to do, when you want to do it (for the most part). If you want to end the investigation 10 minutes into playing and point your fingers at someone, you can. IMO you need to be curious and diligent with your investigation if you want to enjoy the game to the fullest. If you don't like exploring and just doing your own thing, this game is probably not for you.

Good and short game (finished it in about 4 hours) where your goal is to basically kill everything and everyone. Controls are smooth, runs really well too. The most difficult thing about this game is knowing where to go, since I've gotten into a few scenarios where I just didn't know what to do and where to go. A map would really help in a game where you have to backtrack a lot. Overall 8/10.
