I've bought KH1 and KH2 more times than I've been gifted Skyrim upgrades by Todd Howard.

I'm a jaded old gamer with 20 years of playing under my belt. Not many games can make me say "woah" out loud, but Outer Wilds managed it... multiple times. Go in blind, let your curiosity guide you, let frustration harden your resolve, and you're in for a rare experience that you won't forget or regret.

The game is massive and I keep learning about new ways that you can approach situations differently. It's insane how much they fit into this game, and how differently your adventures can progress in each playthrough.

The most I've enjoyed a Borderlands since 2.

The problem with coming into an MMO late to the party is that they rebalance all of the early content so anyone can do it alone, to get new players to the newer current content faster. Ten hours into the game I have finished the original campaign, but I have yet to find the fun in the game that would encourage me to reach said modern content. It's basically "Borderlands the MMO," and I already had my fill of looter-shooters in Borderlands. I'll try it again one day, but right now I'm not feeling it.

I never played the original Risk of Rain, I have rarely enjoyed Rogue-like games in the past, I'm entirely skeptical of all early-access games, and I didn't really have any interest in Risk of Rain 2. My friends kind of pressured me into buying it. I'm very glad that they did, because I was completely unprepared for how much fun this game is.

The gameplay is simple - advance through levels, defeat enemies to get money, spend money on upgrades. As you progress you become stronger and faster and the enemies become more resilient and more numerous. You play until you die or quit and there is no "end" to strive to beyond your own limits.

This may not sound interesting to you at first, and I felt the same by looking at it, but when I played it I found myself enjoying one of the purest VIDEO GAMES I've played in a long, long time. This game is a must have for people who are tired of video games trying to be art or to make a point, and just want to sit down and enjoy the raw FUN of playing a video game for video gaming's sake.

As of 1.0, it's still fantastic to drop in for a round every now and then.

+Perfectly captures the feeling, look, and sound of Alien
+Great balance between being able to defend yourself from enemies, while being unable to defeat your primary nemesis
+One of the best horror games in the past decade

-AI quickly becomes predictable, lessening the scare factor
-Campaign is overlong, easily twice as long as it should have been

The base game is one of the best horror games in the last 10 years. Play on Hard with the lights out for the best experience.

Once you learn that there isn't actually any RNG in the game, and that there is an intelligent, malevolent, higher power controlling the dice rolls, it becomes much easier to wrap yourself in the suffering as though it were a blanket, and find a strange sort of comfort in it.

Seagull rolls another 7.

It's all of the fun of tabletop games with friends, but with a complete disregard for the space between those friends and any cleanup afterward. I cannot praise this game enough.
