Path of Exile has been one of my favorite games for years. I've clocked 1700 hours into the game getting better and learning all sorts of stuff about the game. I wouldn't have put this many hours into the game if I didn't enjoy it.

However, GGG has grown out of touch with its playerbase. Their design philosophy is taking the game a different direction than the direction players like me want. They gutted deterministic crafting, nerfed everyone's favorite builds, and continue to gate trading behind using web browsers and macros.

Content such as the atlas feels grindy and needs overhauls. While they are working on redoing the acts, it doesn't feel like anything new sadly. It has become a chore and I feel uninspired to play when I can no longer push my build to its limits in any kind of meaningful way.

Path of Exile is a fun game and has truly shone as a free to play game. The creators haven't resorted to cheap money grabs or making things pay to win. But when you are passionate and care about a game and see it being run into the ground, it's hard to want to support it or continue putting time into it.

All in all I currently DO NOT recommend PoE. The 3.15 patch has been massively disappointing and if you are the sort of person to get absorbed into a game and put the kind of hours I have into it, you will be disappointed too. You are better off spending your time on another game whose creators are more in touch.

This game is absolutely amazing. I thought I would get tired of it after my first playthrough, but I've managed to put HOURS AND HOURS into this game. There's a ton of replayability in this game. I never tire of the cute characters and the challenging yet rewarding fights. If a bullet hell, waifu collecting, metroidvania platform style game sounds appealing to you then this game is definitely worth your money.
