Portia needs some MASSIVE work on her before shes anywhere near viable, not to mention the bugs her ai (the dog) has. Theres no match where you wount get a case of the dog simply not reacting, running not a straigt path in search mode, running a different path than shown in chase mode, the dog just clipping through survivors, and most infuriatingly, the dog pulling survivors AWAY from you, among other bugs.

Frustration as a game
- Heavily RNG dependend (Your dome is bad against air targets? Have three waves of only that. You need metal? Have some more water, and vice versa.)
- Slow start and on top very grindy (I wish i'd taken a refund when it was possible)
- Interface actively hid critical elements behind a info popup at the worst time resulting in game over
- Very finicky gadgets (e.g. teleporter in a pile of resources, good luck getting it out of there without accidentally teleporting)

Im glad i purchased it on sale, its definitly not worth the current full price (18€). And by the way, if you think this looks like a towerdefense game, its absolutly not. You are the only one dealing damage, all passive gadgets that deal damage have only a minor role.

If you have played the base game and are wondering, 'how could there even be additional stuff?', don't worry, the DLC fits in without causing problems. I'll try to summarize without spoiling:

Pros:
- The 'WOAH' effect is as strong as in the base game
- Depending on how well you puzzle, you've got 10+ hours of content
- Even better atmospheric setting, and new music

Neutral:
- The base game has light horror mostly in the form of the unknown and unsettling things, but the DLC doubles down on that. Personally i liked it, on the other hand i know that some people won't like it. BUT there is an extra setting in the options to defang that.
- Due to the nature of the game and story the DLC is more contained in itself. I don't mind that too much and would have no idea how it would fit in in any other way.

Cons:
- The end of the story was more on the weaker side, so much so that i wasn't even sure yet when i was at the end and replayed it until it clicked and i was like 'oh ok seems like that was it?'
- A performance issue, with or without Vsync and a pc that is beefy and not old i noticed that in every second some frames get dropped. This isn't so noticable that it's ruining the game for me and i'm able to get used to it, but annoying none the less.

After playing through it i can give it a strong thumbs up. I even bought the complete edition AGAIN for a friend who didnt play the game yet, so i can experience it again through him!

They pretty much fixed all the points that were bad about him over the last years, most importantly they gave him his voice back, so im changing my review to positive.

Early Access Review
Too repetetive startarea and no health regeneration coupled with difficult aiming control on a controller (steam controller though) and no information on even how to activate/use spells in any way after aquiring them makes it way more annyoing than fun for me.
The pixel interactions were the only interesting thing i encountered. Im refunding it.

His recent rework put him from the lowest tier of them all in a solid A-tier now.

Early Access Review
I was watching this game since it popped up on Kickstarter, but didnt pull the trigger back when it was funded since my pc was definitly not gonna be able to run the game properly. Now that i have a better PC, i bought it when it went into Early Access.

Right now is the rate in which the developers pump out hotfixes is insane. We are a week into Early Access and they already released 5 hotfixes which increased the quality a lot and is a good indicator for the future.

In my opinion the price is right, i'm having fun playing the more fleshed out gamemode Escape, and there is progression already implemented which incentivises to play longer. The other gamemode Last Man Standing needs more work to be done, its really barebones at the moment.
I also dont have many problems with bugs after the flurry of hotfixes they released, and have yet to encounter a game crashing issue. But my new PC is more HighEnd and can handle most unoptimized graphic, so i cant say how it works for PC's with specs below the recommended, i only experience FPS dips at a certain location ingame.

If you like this genre of games like Dead by Daylight or Hunt: Showdown, this will definitly scratch your itch.
