I really enjoy this game. The aesthetics are gorgeous and the world is full of small details that make it vibrant. The music is really good too, tribal/chanted, perfect for the setting of the game. The flight / combat mechanics are satisfying if you're into the arcade-kind of gameplay.

There are some rough edges (overall I find the game slightly too easy, I think. If you're a somewhat experienced gamer, you should go directly to the hardcore difficulty ) :
1. the economy is a bit off, I find it a bit too easy to get access to the best gear
2. some mechanics aren't explained / tutorialised, which means you have to refer yourself to the wiki or the discord chat.
3. The missions could do with a bit more variety, but that's something that's kind of specific to the dogfight genre I think.
4. There's a number of really cool ideas that are somewhat underexploited.

HOWEVER : the developer is extremely responsive, and the negative points I find do not reduce my enjoyment of the game. I was looking for something with great aesthetics and an engaging setting and got just that and more. There's a sense of bliss that comes with controlling these birds that's really satisfying, and the story is engaging enough to make me want to see more of it.

Great game, easy to learn, hard to master. Lots of interesting single player content.

I like it, there are a lot of gameplay elements and UI features that tend to facilitate the experience. Among these things :

- the lane partners both get the gold when one of them last hit a minion.
- no wards : there are 4 pillars that you can activate in the forest to get visibility, but as a player who enjoys support champions, it allows me to focus on the battles rather than on ward management.
- the biggest mob in the forest, when killed, gives a huge ape that helps you push a lane. This is much better than a aegis/buff system.
- champion stats are REALLY simple.
- graphically cute and colorful. It's hard to get mad in a game this colorful. It really gives a "feel good" vibe. The char design is really really good, like LoL was in its early days.
- out of combat regen / free unkillable carrier : you don't have to go back to base often.
- the action is very readable. For real.
- the small things, like a popup that tells you that you can now afford the next item on your build (builds can be customized of course), or the radial-menu to explains (vocally) why you ping : "omw" / "be careful" / "enemy missing"
- all champions are unlocked right from the start. However you have to spend in-game currency to unlock the equivalent of "summoner spells".
- you can't communicate with your opponents in game.

The few cons :
- the playerbase is small right now, it takes 2 - 5 minutes before finding a game. Which is okay as Strife is still in beta.
- there are no "complex item recipes". However you can change the recipes of the items via a crafting mechanism. I'm not a fan but it shows the devs are trying things.

As a conclusion, after about 10 hours of gameplay, I have to say I like it. I really think the devs made a goal to reduce the toxicity to a minimum, which is very refreshing.

I lack the words to describe how much I love this game. I played 20 hours in 4 days.

It's a roguelike, which means you can (and will) get screwed by the RNG. But seriously, it's as Lovecraftian and gritty as it gets, and offers a unique depiction of what battling skeletons and other fiends would be if video game writers gave a damn about their characters states of mind.

If you liked the atmosphere of Amnesia : the Dark descent, just buy this game. The devs truly deserve the money.

Haven't finished it yet, and I'm not sure whether I should love it or hate it.

On the one hand, its atrocious difficulty tends to throw me off, as I wouldn't expect this from a "point and click" game. However, it seems like it was designed to be really hardcore, with scenes that you're gonna have to replay over and over until you get a grasp of what's expected of you. Every level is a somewhat long puzzle in which balance is everything, and the tiniest mistake might make you restart the whole scene.

On the other hand, the absolutely brillant writing, and the fact it keeps playing with my nerves (russian roulette, man ...) makes me wanna shake the hand of its writers in a very manly way, which would, by the firmness alone, assert of my respect towards their work.

This game just feels right. Best sensations I've had since Tribes Ascend (which kinda let me down after a year of playing).

I don't think it will have a real competitive scene, but it's definitely worth picking up if you're looking for something to lose yourself in after a long day of work.

The aesthetics are really good, I'm actually really impressed by the amount of work put in the level design. The maps are very impressive and well thought. The gameplay just rocks. Plus you don't have to unlock weapons, you have access to the whole panel right from the start.

If you like old school FPS like Quake, UT and such, I'd definitely recommend this game.
