Don't be blinded by childhood memories of RE3: Nemesis. Purchase this only if it is on sale as it is essentially a demo.

17.5 hrs on record. This was more than enough time to get S rank on every difficulty, finish every "challenge" in the records section, 100% the achievements and do a final scenic route playthrough.

It is a fun game, sure. But the ride was too short and my boy Nemesis was done wrong as at times he was essentially an autistic mongoloid.

Key points: Short, linear, minimal replay value, interesting mods, unfinished product

The voice chat in-game reminded me of the old Modern Warfare days when you'd hear the funniest and outlandish ♥♥♥♥ in lobby.

Thanks for taking me back to 2007 if only for a brief moment.

6.1 hrs on record. Don't trust that, its clearly wrong haha.

Half-life is what started it for me. Yeah, sure, I could say Doom is what started PC gaming for me (and of course you can't forget Quake, Wolfenstein, Redneck rampage, etc) but Half-Life is what locked me firmly in place.

I still think of the times back then when I used to wake up at 6am on a Saturday to play some Half-Life and Starcraft and watch Pokemon. That feeling is something that I can't replicate today. Perhaps its nostalgia but that carefree feeling of being a kid and enjoying such an insane game is one of my fondest memories of growing up.

Not only was the single player insane to my ten year old mind back then but the countless mods that spawned because of this game and the fun times I had.. Some that immediately come to mind:

Pirates, Vikings and Knights
Vampire Slayer
Battlegrounds
The Specialists
Brainbread

The list is long and goes on and on. Yeah yeah, don't worry. I didn't forget about CS. That's reserved for it's own review. I still have floppy disks filled with updates, skin packs and bots that I downloaded from csnation. Any of you remember counter-crap? RzE? Rizzuh? Lungfish? The infamous [myg0t] cheating clan that'd you'd occasionally run into? :P

I recently cycled through some of the older games like Deathmatch Classic, Team Fortress and Day of Defeat. I was pleasantly surprised to see people still playing them. It just goes to show you that Half-Life and any of its mods will continue to stand the test of time.

Lord Gaben, I am who I am today because of you. I wish you good health and a long life. Thank you!

Incredible soundtrack and an exceptional story.

"Overwhelmingly Positive" doesn't begin to explain how great and touching To the Moon is. Not much I can explain without spoiling anything but the ending made me shed manly tears.

Make sure you're buckled in and get ready for an emotional roller coaster. 9/10

I had a lot of fun. But its time to step away from old faithful and move on until the big number 4 comes out.

> Big shout out to PDG for the best epoch and exile servers I've ever played on. Chill people and overall great community.
> Honorable mention to MGT for good servers as well.
> Humongous ♥♥♥♥ you to Hostile Takeover for all the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ I put up with on your koth servers.

Made good friends, had lots of fun, raged often and broke a great many monitors and miscellaneous peripherals. 8/10

Short but sweet and well written.

Points out that just a little effort on your part no matter how small or meaningless you think it is makes a huge difference.

For my first time playing through a visual novel, I have to admit I thoroughly enjoyed every minute and this is coming from a guy who plays nothing but fps games.

I can't really expand on this review without revealing any spoilers but S. Island is most definitely worth the full price. Regardless of whether it is on sale or not, it is a must buy!

@TABINOMICHI, Bravo for this being your first game! I eagerly await a sequel to S. Island! 9/10 :feelings:

Hands down the best of the old classics and then some.

Back in the day, everyone raved about ff7. ff7 this, ff7 that, omg cloud is the best!!1 I personally found ff7 dull and not as enjoyable as the vast majority put it. It is an okay game but not the best.[i/]

Everything in ff9 is incredible to say the least. The game has aged like fine wine and 20+ years later, I still enjoyed a solid play through and trip down memory lane.

Graphics: A+
I swear there are times where I can just hangout in an area and enjoy the looks of the game. Everything looked insane back during the ps1 days and it doesn't look half bad today.

Background and design: A++
I know i'm not the only one that hung out at the broken bridge between the gates to stare off into the distance. You don't see much at the start of the game since its mostly shrouded in mist but if you come back after your first trip to the Iifa tree, the mist clears up and it literally looks like an art canvas. Aesthetically pleasing to the max.

Character development: SSS
Can't cheer for one character since you love them all. On a side note, as a kid, who else thought Garnet was a smokin babe?

Music: SSSS
Memorable soundtracks that have a calming effect on anyone regardless if you're a ♥♥♥♥♥ or a hardened killer. Even Nobuo Uematsu considers the FFIX soundtrack to be his magnum opus and he's worked on the other ff titles.

Fights: A
A little slow at times with auto haste being near worthless. But I like how they made the items in the game so that you will at times switch back to weaker gear (stat wise) to utilize the negating effects the equipment provides like 100% elemental damage reduction, increased damage, etc.

I still got all tingly and giddy when I saw Lindblum Navy rise out of the clouds. For a moment there, I was a kid again. My back pain disappeared, all my worries and stress vanished and I was (for the duration of that cutscene) transported back in time. This game is one of those games i'd be picking on the short list of "if I were to be stuck on an island" or *insert being alone forever on/in isolated area/place* whatever.
