I just finish my first Dakar. I struggled to choose if I would mark the game as "Recommended" or not.

Did I enjoyed? Yes, since I was waiting a Rally Raid game for years, I enjoyed to have hard times behind the wheel. But there is some things I won't want to see in racing games.

Let's take a look at pros and cons.

PROS
# Rally Raid, with official Dakar licence
# All categories (cars, trucks, motos, quads)
# Stages (dunes, tracks, rivers, slow zones, deserts, mountains, etc..)
# Steering wheels compatibility
# Navigation notes (actual road book)
# You can get out of the car for digging when you're stuck in mud or sand

CONS
# Only 180° in the wheel (that's sucks on tracks, not a big problem in dunes BTW)
# AI drivers are dumb (they miss all the f***ing turns)
# Co-driver will make you crazy. I know I'm lost, just HELP ME FOR THE F*** SAKE!
# When outside of the car the pilot is hard to control. And guess what? Your co-driver just stay stand up and saying "no time for flowers, let's go" every 5 seconds. F*** YOU AND HELP ME STUPID.

It's not so bad, after all. It's not a Rally game, so don't have a decent driving feeling because of the 180° is not a big deal. In Rally Raid we're in dunes so it's OK. Well, at the beginning at the game yes. We'll see that later.

AI is missing all the turns, but we don't see other cars often (and it's a good thing in a Rally Raid) so not a real problem, because their time are OK. Yes, you guess right! At the beginning of the game their time are decent. We will speak about that later.

Your co-driver, your stupid co-driver…. In fact at the end it’s OK. I’ll come back to this later.

Get out of the car is a pain. And because of the difficulty of the road you have to get out often. In the first stages, after that you’ll finish all your stages by staying all the way in your car. Let’s get back to it later.


Did you seen the point?

First half of the game, in Peru.
The game is so awesome, you drive in dunes, keeping focus on your very sharp notes to find your way. You’re struggling against the road, against the clock, you’re late in the standings because they’re so strong. But it’s so exciting, winning a stage is pure adrenaline, you’re so proud of you, you want more, more, more, more!!!!

Then it come Bolivia.
But where the f*** are the dunes? Well, OK, tracks is a little less exciting but it’s the game, Dakar is not only dunes after all. But it’s a little more boring because this kind of driving could be better. But stages are still difficult. And watch of the rocks everywhere because you can break your car!
But, hey, what happened to all the drivers? I had 1 hour late when quitting Peru and I started to get 2 hours. OMG did I really lead by 2 hours? Did I become good at this? Not so sure…

Final country, Argentina.
Where I realise something. The dev team didn’t have the time to finish the game. The game became the shadow of himself when I started to drive in Argentina.
Stages description doesn’t catch the road book. What? Maybe I “read” the road book too fast, let’s get driving. OK… They said I’ll get back to dunes, but this stage is only tracks, rivers, tracks and rivers again. WTF?
Second stage, the same, but worst. And worst, and worst. The AI just fell in stupidity, I won this Dakar leading by 5 f***ing hours and half!!!
And you know what is very insane? The notes don’t match the road at all! The 2 last stages you can see notes don’t match the real thing. Waypoints are kind of delayed (they appear way before they should). They didn’t have the time to finish their game!
I don’t even remember the last time I was in difficulty in the car, stuck somewhere in mud or even lost. I almost forget you can get lost in the game! Crazy!!!

But I still have hope for Dakar 19. Please, make the same game, but finish it. Please.
That’s why I mark it as “recommended”, for the hope. And because the game is so awesome in Peru. Please, DO NOT ♥♥♥♥♥♥ UP DAKAR 19.

And don’t forget the Africa DLC this time FFS.

Night and rain was missing so bad to Assetto Corsa, now that's fixed. And the Blancpain series is so awesome! Looks how great it is!

The final release could be, could be, THE race sim I'm looking for so many years. There are so great sim around, but all of them have pros and cons. This one could be the almost perfect game I'm waiting. Tracks and cars number should be a little small, because of the official licence, but if mods are allowed (and hopefully Assetto Corsa compatible) the game will become the best.

EDIT: -

Almost same game as NASCAR Heat 2 but don't work with full framerate with i5-8600k GTX1070 and 16BG RAM. And steering wheel compatibility is poor. I asked for a refund and I will think about get it for Playstation 4 later (my wheel works fine with PS4's NASCAR Heat 2).

Thanks to F1 2018 I seen Raikkonen take pole and win. 10/10

Short review of Them's Fightin' Herds after the first hour I did some training and arcade mode.

This is an indie fighting game, powered by Skullgirl's engine. The original name of the project was My Little Pony: Fighting Is Magic. An fan made game based on My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic[en.wikipedia.org]. They sadly had to stop the project, renamed it and change the characters, that's why the game was delayed. So, what we can find after those changes? A good fighting game, powered by the most interesting and latest 2D fighting game engine created by Lab 0 for Skullgirls.

The main system of the game is close to Blazblue. 3 attacks levels (light, medium, strong attacks) and a 4th button for chara spec abilities. I don't remember abilities since I don't play enough, but the cow can throw a losso, the unicorn can charge the super bar, ect...

Wait, did I speak about cow and unicorn in a fighting game? Yes, they change My Little Pony's characters for 4 feet animals. That sounds logical indeed, but there is the originality of the game. Your hitbox is very different of others games, and you have to keep it in mind for your spacing.

The only bad things are the soft feels unfinished yet, but it's an early access so this can change in future patches. Some animations are missing, sound can be delayed sometimes, and small things like this. Stages are not bad, but motionless/lifeless. Not a lot of characters for now, 6 playables chars and a boss wich is 4 animals (a bear, a snake, etc...) to beat with only one life bar.

But because all of this can be fix in the near future, and because this is a cheap game, I highly recommend to go for it.

Wanna say waste of time.

Codemasters, please try to learn to make a decent AI. Everything is great is this game, graphics, driving, FIA F1's licence, rules, tyres, cars are actually differents, tracks are good looking and match with reality, the rain is good, safety car, VSC, etc... And thanks race strategies can been edited. Looks so good, right ?
BUT AI is the same crap as F1 2015, it's crazy. I just made a wonderful race at Spielberg. I was 10th with my Manor (but no pitstop yet, should be 11th or 12th). I made a small mistake when braking for turn 1 so I lost speed. Alonso come and try to overtake by the right. OK, I go left as much as I can, far is grass so I couldn't go more to the left. I keep my eye on the braking zone because it's gonna be the fight there with Fernando.
Héhé LOL, no, absolutly not... Once again the AI push my rear in the straight, send me into spins and the wall finish the job. Crazy, crazy, crazy. Watch the replay, if an actual driver make it ONCE he lost his super licence for life. It's a shame I didn't had FRAPS or other recording soft to show you.
The problem is, most of the races finish like this! I'm tired of the series since 2015. TT are awesome because the car control is good, so much better than before, but the AI ruin the races.
Oh, and the FFB is crap. Like the entire series BTW.

The best co-op zombie FPS is back! With new maps, new perks, new char, new boss, Steam Workshop support...
The community is great, you always play with teammates who understand the advantages of team-play, sharing money, healing each others.

First look at the game :

+ smooth gameplay : nice feeling when moving, shooting, stealth, driving
+ the city looks great, a lot of interior, good level design
+ graphics and anims are great. Nice work on light effects
+ the story beginning well, cinematics have nice staging
+ a lot of characters, with personnality

- 30 fps cap for now, they're working on a patch which add 60 fps support. but 30 fps are stable so it could be worst
- some freezes during long travels
- few crashes (2 times the first hour, ok next 2 hours so far).
