Tldr: Not really worth 10 dollars, mods do it better

The whole idea of the DLC is great but poorly executed. All the new unique buildings that are added in this DLC don't have any unique sounds to them like base game buildings and previous dlc buildings do nor do they offer bonuses of any kind. The level of effort to re-create these countries seems to vary with Poland being the most worked on map out of the bunch, having an actual starter textile industry and infrastructure, but Western nations like the UK and US are sparse and barren wastelands once you leave their respective capitols having none of the expected industrial might and infrastructure you would expect. Some maps have un-destroy able buildings in them too that I think are supposed to represent royal palaces like Buckingham Palace which were also not included. I understand that these are not 1:1 recreations but there could have been way more detail to them than what you get for something that is 1/4 of the price of the game, is mostly just reused assets from the base game, and adds nothing new like the biomes dlc did.

The day night cycle feels like something that should've been a base game feature and the map customization is barely noticeable unlike the 5 dollars missing from your wallet. At least you get the same amount of content as the Elder Scrolls: Oblivion horse armour DLC for double the price.

As someone who played Victoria 2 waiting for this game for years before it was announced I can safely say the game in its current state is pretty shallow. The war system being hands off is frustrating and buggy causing my game to crash multiple times trying to invade Vietnam and a perma war ensuing with France to take their puppet Brunei because Brunei wouldn't capitulate cause impassable terrain counts as controlled territory during wars despite not being able to take it. Naval invasions? Don't even try them because you will always fail due to the general with 300 divisions you sent to invade will only bring a max of 3 divisions off the boat to invade the beaches of Normady where it seems the entire French army is waiting. The economy system is a downgrade from Victoria 2 where every pop actually existed and made choices for themselves in your economy and what they invested in where instead they are now just an arbitrary number for how many people you can throw into a factory and If your looking to play the best country just play China because it's the best country statistically since it has literally every resource and infinite manpower to stuff into jobs. I was a great power within the first 2 years of the game because I declared war on Prussia and waited them out to become civilized. Finally politics and government don't really matter in the game when every government type does the exact same thing fundamentally with the only difference being the text on the screen you see on the screen.

I don't ever really write reviews but this game is one I've been waiting for forever and just doesn't feel more than a rushed game with nearly no game. So do I recommend it? No. It's just not much fun after the first run.

Edit: Picked the game up again to see if it changed after a few updates. Long story short is nothing changed other than some values were tweaked and seems like Austria is the only country in the game that actually engages with you in the game.
