most fun I've had in a minute

as a paladins refugee, i feel well served.

Game is based. some of the best freedom of movement and combo structure out there.

A heartfelt story wrapped in a nostalgic atmosphere of childhood and moving on,
Gone Home is a touching walking sim that doesn't overstay its welcome.

Pretty short. basically just finished it out of frustration lol. I dont regret it, but I dont think Id recommend the experience. For how short it was, it still felt pretty padded.

The majority of puzzles boil down to "interact with everything you can until the puzzle solves itself" and the ones that go beyond that rely on somewhat unreliable physics and collision detection or tedious trial and error. Few puzzle games have had me solve a third loosely identical ramp puzzle just to groan when the wall opens up to yet another one. Probably three or four did have me feeling like a smarty pants tho.

The plot is pretty fine, if a bit preachy. Voice acting is solid enough as was the final message. Not super original, but not bad. Not a whole lot to say. I dont appreciate autosaves right before long elevators of unearned exposition though.

If you like first person puzzle games, you have better options. but there are a couple good ones in here.

fun game

About 20 minutes long, until you play it again and again and again. Simple controls and good ability progression for a seemingly simple game with some fun hidden depth if you choose to look for it. Plus it's free, so why not!

A smartly fleshed out Left 4 Dead meets Dungeon Defenders all draped in an aesthetic of dwarven space minecraft. The progression system seems steady and reasonably quick, plus all the upgrades range from pretty useful to fantasic. Would recommend for a group of friends with a few hours on their hands and a healthy longing for the times when left 4 dead wasn't yet stale.
