It's sad to say that Risk of Rain 2 is still a work in progress. I appreciate what the developers are doing to fix their wrongs, but honestly selling a DLC that wasn't comparable in quality to the previous DLC and on top of that dropping updates that break the game is something they need to work on BEFORE developing, advertising, and releasing new content. After months of release I recently attempted to play the game and single player works fine. There are still soft locks like the teleporter spawning inside walls and not being intractable with which ends your run. But the multiplayer is atrocious: out of 10 runs I've attempted with friends, 6 of them have ended in disconnects, 1 in a crash where I had to restart my entire PC, and 3 runs we actually got to enjoy. Prior to the DLC RoR2 was one of my most played games to 100% completion, so it's really sad for me to have to sleep on the new content until it's quality improves. Fans knew the sale of Hoppo to GearBox would be an issue, and sadly I have to agree so far with what I've experienced. But thankfully we got Borderlands 4 before fixing a small AA game.

The developers are trying to fix the game now and I can respect that, but why put in effort now after you blew your shot, when you probably could have sat on release longer and had a successful launch? If we see improvement on this game enough that I come back, ill be sure to change my review but until then, I hope this sheds some light on the situation. Do not fund GearBox's future mistakes until you can get something worth your money.

One of the best games I have played in a long time. I wont tell you its a perfect game: some of the missions are repetitive, some missions can be a bit dry in content, etc; however it offers a great amount of personality that I haven't seen in a video game in quite some time. Absolutely love the garage, where you can focus on building the ultimate vehicle to get you through the wasteland, as well as the character upgrade scree, which is panned out nicely and is similar to what you would see in an Batman series game. If you're bored of FPS, this is a great escape
