Hell Let Loose (War is Hell and so is this game... Marvelous!)

With so many World War II games to engross yourself with, I find Hell Let Loose the most authentic in terms of scope. The experience of being in the middle of a heart-pounding war that invades your senses can be characterized by slow and deliberate movement, squad-based teamwork, and the feeling of being pushed to the limit. There are times when you really do feel like you are there; it's almost intoxicating, to say the least.

I don't say this often, but having a working mic and being able to communicate effectively is a must (some servers will ban you if you don't speak their language!). The squad-based combat, if anything, requires all but the strongest of leaders and squad mates to win. Having a seasoned squad leader can have a significant impact on your experience of the match, so if you don't work well with others, this may not be your game. Maps are big with lots of cover; there are no death cams, so being a good communicator will save lives and frustration.

Pro - Squad based combat with teamwork and hardcore action will have you glued to your seat for hours. Artillery and tanks add to the warlike atmosphere of the game, with big maps with nice scenic vistas and plenty of places to hide and dig in. War is Hell!

Con - Some people don't use their mic, plus people will sometimes lone wolf in this game; it's a team game! Don't be that guy! There is a bit of a learning curve, and you'll die… a lot. People don't like being squad leaders due to all the communication you have to put up with.

Verdict - You can't go wrong with Hell Let Loose; the developers update almost all the time, and it's a great game with a few friends; even some randos can make it fun. All the DLC are cosmetic, and some are free!

Pro Tip - If you are green to the screen (aka - Noobs), I highly recommend you watch some “beginners guides” on YouTube. Make sure your mic is set up, and for god’s sake, don't be a squad leader or commander under level 50, please and thank!
