One of the best RTS I've ever seen, the direct control system adds a lot of possible gameplay to the game, totally would recommend, the AI is perfect, nor too easy, nor too hard.

The mods also add a lot to the game, one I'd recommend a lot is HOTmod 1968, even thought it was discontinued, it is still a good mod that is surprisingly detailed, and yes, it was originally made in MOWAS: 2 Cold War.

Anyways,
The strategy point of the game is very polished, yet it's not overwhelming necessary, it does play a big role, since you could lose a entire platoon if you don't plan strategies (It happened to me since I didn't had any vehicle to support the platoon)
and as you can notice, giving support to infantry is very important, no matter how many vehicles you have, you need more infantry than vehicles, since the infantry will make the vehicles very much harder to attack, while the vehicles help the infantry giving more firepower, while the direct control provides the player control over the battlefield, it also brings a lot of fun, since then you can control the troops like a FPS, while commanding the vehicle or infantry, or you could just drive the vehicle, by pressing the middle mouse button. While you can control a squad of infantry, meanwhile controlling the squad leader.

I recommend it a lot, even if you don't like very much strategy games, you should totally try it.

The firsts tiers are where you get more fun, but when you play with tier 4 or more all the people are just tryharding and wanting to get more kills and it becomes a game where you cant play it for fun.
