A Gacha Masterpiece Dropped on Steam
I've been playing this game every damn day since release, and here’s my honest opinion:
I truly believe that 🔥 Wuthering Waves 🔥 is the best gacha game on the market right now
This game is so good, sometimes I just stare at my PC screen wondering how the hell it’s free
Everything in this game feels top tier.Let me break it down:
  • ✅ 🌄 Visually, the game looks absolutely stunning — every location is desktop wallpaper material
  • ✅ 🎧 Sound design is unique to each location and really enhances the atmosphere
  • ✅ 🌍 A beautiful open world. It's vast, alive and atmospheric. There are also plenty of interesting puzzles in the world, not just fights over treasure chests.
While exploring locations, you can witness enemies fighting themselves.
Every location feels like it breathes with its own story, graphics and soundtrack only enhance that feeling
  • ✅ 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Every playable character feels unique and well developed even the 4★ ones look juicy
  • ✅ 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Enemies and NPC all look well designed some NPC even look like playable characters
  • ✅ ⚔️ The combat is dynamic and engaging. This isn't just spamming two skills and clicking LMB, there’s dodging, parrying and legit mechanics(shoutout to the masochists who’s clearing tower with Danjin)
  • ✅ 🧗 Exploration is smooth and satisfying. You can wall run, grapple hook no more climbing cliffs for 10 minutes. As of 2.0, they even added true flight in Rinasite (not just gliding)
  • ✅ 🌀 The artifact system is original called Echoes. You kill monsters and craft sets from them (yeah, stats still roll RNG-style, but it’s fresh)
  • ✅ 🎥 The story might be a matter of taste, but I liked it. The cinematics and cutscenes are top notch and emotional if you actually read the story. The opening cutscene alone with the MC returning? to the world Chills
  • ✅ 📚 And before you think, "Oh great, another gacha with a mountain of boring dialogue" don’t worry. The devs let you
    ⏩ SKIP DIALOGUE ⏩
You can literally skip anything even main story and it gives you a short summary of what you missed (which you can also skip)
Yes, that same skip button Genshin players have been begging
  • ✅ 🛠 The devs genuinely care about the community. The game was already great, and then 2.0 with Rinasite hit like a nuke. Imagine what it’ll look like in 2-3 years
  • ✅ 🎁 And the most important part of any gacha? 💎Pulls💎
Right now, there's enough content for anyone to get their favorite character for free. Devs are generous F2P players get 85–90 pulls per patch and 160+ on the anniversary. Insane value.
They even added a weapon guarantee no more rolling some useless weapon. Thanks to that, all my 5★ units are running signature gear
  • ✅ ♻️ There’s also a sweet cashback system. Besides getting extra pulls, you can buy two const for 4★ and 5★ character (including limiteds while their banner is live)
  • ✅ ⚧ Oh, and you can freely switch between male/female MC in the settings (with a 24h cooldown) A small but nice touch
😐 Now, onto the downsides?
  • ❌ 👥 Speaking of which multiplayer. Matchmaking for co-op events is fast (5-10s), but dungeons? Back when I was low rank, it could take 5–10 minutes to find two people. Post 2.0 maybe it’s better, but idk
  • ❌ 🎮 You’ll need decent hardware to run this. I can’t even imagine playing on mobile
  • ❌ 🔁 Late game content is either lacking or a bit repetitive
Just bumping enemy HP isn’t difficulty it’s just lazy design. Add a timer? Now it’s just painful.
The combat system is already phenomenal why not reward players for skill? Instead of “beat in 3 minutes,” give challenges like “take no damage” or “parry 10 times.”
They already did something like this in Rinasite optional combat goals to unlock all three chests in a fight.
But hey, at least the devs are trying.Devs are putting in effort and constantly adding something new they experiment with genres. First, there was a roguelike style door, then boss fights. In the Phoebe patch, they added fishing, and later in the Brant patch, they introduced ships (Abyss 2) and the last tower event were cool ideas. Let’s give them time.

  • ❌ 🌐 It’s still a gacha, so the community… well, you know. Unfortunately, a lot of Genshin fans not only ignore this game, they actively review bomb it. People whined about the anniversary rewards like it was a personal insult. I really feel bad for the devs sometimes
  • ❌ ⭐ And lastly a nitpick but new 4★ characters are rare. They look and feel as good as 5★s, but only two new 4★s came out in the last year. Gacha fans know 4★s are key for team comp flexibility
🏁Final thoughts🏁
That’s it. So I recommend you to also experience this masterpiece for yourself or at least give it a shot. The choice is yours!
First time I’ve ever written a review this long, but I had to support these devs they deserve more attention for their game and a better community.
And if you have some questions about game just drop below this review I’d be happy to help.
P.S.
While the more “successful” older brother Genshin Impact is still getting squeezed by Steam fees , WuWa is opening its arms to new players, ready to show them what a real gacha experience can be.
