Scary Gary.

It frankly should've been an expansion to the first one. It feels worse in almost every aspect. Deeper story but full of plot holes, small playable area (or it feels smaller), very little flora, fauna, and biome diversity, no horror, etc... I give it a decent 6/10. Only buy at a discount.

Very few items (About 150) and even fewer synergies between them. There are only like 10 or less item combinations and they are not even interesting. Most of the items are just stat sticks or gimmicks. Unlike The Binding of Isaac this game lacks a lot of depth. Unlocking every item is counterproductive since it hinders your future runs. You will most likely be aiming for only a few select items each run and employing the same strategy again and again. This strategy will most likely be blessing stacking with Sylph familiar. There are quite a few familiars (around 10) that level up but most of them suck compared to Sylph.

All in all a shallow and mediocre roguelike with identity problems. Quite honestly The Binding of Isaac started out like this but it got better and better every update. Sadly I don't think this will be the case with this game.

It is a solid game but it has paid mods. Corporate greedy ♥♥♥♥♥♥.
