I strongly recommend this game to others. Despite being 10 years old at this point, and many of the unique weapons being degraded in usefulness over that time, it still provides a blast for anyone who installs. In comparison to other FPS games that I've played (CS:GO, BO3, etc.) Team Fortress 2 offers a unique elemental charm that keeps drawing me back to it. One of the main proponents to this may be the characters, who each have individual, interesting personas behind them, only strengthened more by the videos Valve posts (e.g. "Meet The" series, Expiration Date). Another draw may be the unique weapons and gameplay, where you don't always have to be shooting but rather can play different roles. The Medic's main focus isn't destroying everything in sight; it's healing. The Engineer creates buildings that help everyone on the team and fight for him. The Spy can easily slip behind enemy lines and commit various forms of sabotage. These unique traits are helped by how each has it's own counter; the Spy is easily discoverable by a Pyro, the Engineer's buildings are disabled by the Spy, and the Heavy's slow movement can become a huge burden when facing off against a Scout. This creates balanced and fun gameplay, where you never know what will happen because people keep making up new strategies to complete one of various goals.


As with any game, TF2 has it's fair share of problems. the amount of people on each team occasionally is unbalanced, detracting from the point I made about counters. In addition, updates have not been as plentiful in recent years, most likely due to the age of the game. This prevents fresh content that spices up the game even more. Despite this, I think it is a great game overall, and definitely worth the download.
