After Overwatch failed, failed, and failed again, I was craving a new hero shooter. The moment Rivals was announced, I was cautiously optimistic.

Now that I've sunk more than a day of playtime into it, I was rewarded for it. Characters we know and love duke it out, with fun uses of powers and more than just everyone having different guns.

If you enjoyed combat in Dragon Age 2 and in Mass Effect 2, this is the right Bioware game for you.

After having to wait for a performance patch for over a year, I have to say it was worth it. I got the game on Sale, and it's been the perfect follow up to Fallen Order. No Metroid "all of your abilities are gone"- you have all the gear and abilities from the first game, which got expanded on in this game. The customization continues to be great; less emphasis on just coloration and more emphasis on overall changes. Seeing videos of everyone's different Cal is very fun to me. The game looks incredible, the gameplay is fun as hell (despite the occasional janky interaction). This is everything I want from a Star Wars game; Story, exploration, and combat.

I'm doing my part. Democracy has failed this day.

I've been actively waiting for this sequel for years now, and as someone with that history, I've really enjoyed the game thus far.

Was the option for MTX scummy? Yes, it always is. But the majority of what they offer, you can get in game. (It only takes 500 RC in game to buy the item to change appearance, people are acting like the MTX is the only way to do it.)

Are there performance issues? Yes, but I'm surprised anyone is shocked about that anymore. Every AAA game that comes out needs several patches, because no beta testing can cover all the basis. This isn't a CP2077 situation, this game is 100% playable from the jump.

And for everyone complaining about the limited FT, no lock on, and other features like that; you shot yourself in the foot for not seeing how the first game played.

Is the game perfect? Nah. Is it the amazing niche experience most fans were waiting for? I'd say yes.

An RPG that takes everything you love about old school top-down RPGs like Diablo and Baldur's Gate, and modernizes it. With a fantastic story, great companions, and a surprising in depth character creation, this game has many, many elements going for it. (Plus, it has base management/homesteading, which is a personal favorite of mine.)

This is the type of game where I want to take my time and enjoy, but at the same time I can't wait to play the sequel.

This game is fantastic. The mix of humor and strategy are blended so well.

My favorite dialog option so far is "Realize in horror he means the limb you have in your inventory for absolutely legitimate reasons."
