Why do I like a game about driving trucks so much?

I am a big fan of Factorio and the reviews made this seem to be a more "relaxed" experience similar to it. But I couldn't get past a little over an hour played without requesting a refund. The UI is too cumbersome to manage and I got sick of worker management really quickly. On top of that, the campaign feels like a super extended tutorial with the addition of the custom game not having an end goal like the Factorio rocket or the Satisfactory super collider thing that was meaningful (the omnitemple or whatever it is called is not meaningful, it's just there to say "congrats, you did it").

Props to the solo dev, they clearly made a game that has a small devoted following since early access. I appreciate the tech tree system, the graphics (they're very charming) and I am sure later tech makes it more fun to manage everything. I can understand the appeal of the game but I simply could not be one of those that inevitably sinks hundreds of hours in due to what I mentioned above.
