I am not fan of sim games but this one hits different.
> good game loop can play for hours,
> its both chill enough for watching or listening to something by the side and action packed as not to be monotone.

Okay, I'll be real with you:

I love this game.
There are a lot of minor inconveniences throughout the game, so you need to put in some effort to enjoy certain parts.
This game is a sandbox, especially with the story, so some story elements may feel clunky.
Stealth and moving through the battlefield feel just wrong most of the time.
Pickpocketing and other activities have no enjoyable gameplay around them except save scumming.
I've played 500 hours of accumulated Larian Studio games, and these problems usually occur. So, I don't expect them to be solved.
This game is amazing. I don't remember really caring for the dialogs and story since Disco Elysium. To be honest, every game tries to make lovable characters, but Baldur's Gate made a case for study.
The amount of content this game has is absurd; you cannot possibly explore all of it in one playthrough at all.
For someone who played Divinity: Original Sin 2, this game's battles are on another level. Builds and strategies are deeper than DND 5e because of the large array of specific items.
Cosmetically, it's hecking impressive. Not at the level of graphics paragon, but the art design and graphics really complement each other near perfectly. Even with limited character creation tools, it's mostly inclusive.
Roleplaying is fully possible, and this luxury is actually very rare at this age.
Modding is very easy and accessible; it's improving every day even more.

If you enjoy learning how to play a game, this one is definitely worth experiencing.
