Not sure how far I've got playing this but I like it a lot so far...

Selaco has Doom vibes graphics which put me off at first but once the gun fights get going later on in the game, it's a fast, furious and snappy shooter. Typing this reminded me of John Woo's Hard Boiled, the film with the glass shattering manic gunfight scenes, sliding across the floor to that pillar for protection.

The soundscape creates an immersive atmosphere, footsteps are particularly effective, and the destructible environment really draws you in. Multiple cans of paint exploding, covering everything in a colourful splotchy mess is a nice touch. The low res graphics allow for much destructibility. More of this please!

The first level is a bit maze like. That tiny crawl space is easy to miss but once you find that it's not so tricky to explore. Use the map!

Played Doom 30+ years ago. Ouch. Played it whilst listening to Simon and Garfunkel. The jaunty, upbeat music was in complete contrast to the gory shooter that Doom is. Worked well in a bizarre way. Might try again.

It's the best shooter I've played for a very long time.🔥

Installed. Hosted. Didn't know what I was doing. Some randoms joined and one said follow me so I followed jumping over the guard rails of my ship and then over some terrain and up a ladder and through a door then left, right, down a darkened corridor, suddenly his head was sucked in by a head crab thing and as I heard him mumble incoherently through his muted mic he blindly stumbled into a spider's web never to be heard of again. Made several new Steam friends this Christmas.

When GTA goes good. Why hold up a bank or deal in drugs when you can sell croissants, hotdogs, cigars or chips instead? Wholesome playing. Hang on, I got a call from the employment agency...

When you hit the sweet spot of getting the right power-ups and just keep going it becomes a wonderful crazy overwhelming mad psychedelic mess.

Play whilst listening to the nuts Focus by Hocus Pocus or Wish by Anna Calvi or... this game plays well with whatever floats your boat.

Reminds me of Robotron and the latter, and one of my faves, Llamatron (I defeated the Ozric Tentacle way back then on my Atari ST)! Look them up as they are gaming history. Simple gameplay but then it can escalate to a wonderful bombardment of weirdness. Worth it. Hope the devs keep upscaling the weapons madness and the variety of enemies. In theory, it could never stop.

Multiplayer would be a lovely addition but can understand if devs don't want to go there.

Thumbs up from me.

This reminds me of the classic board game Risk but with so much, much more. The scale of everything is overwhelming at first but if you stick with it, do the tutorial and watch some good YT videos, it's a great game. The expansion of your territory or just trouncing an annoying enemy is very satisfying and you get attached to your offspring and the various characters that flit into and out of existence when playing. Easier to get into than its predecessor.
