What the hell???

Funny, little adventure game in style of old Sierra games.

Crusaders of the Lost Idols is a very nice idler made by same people as Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms. And that last one in superb idler done in D&D setting. So you expect quality. There are some differences in gameplay between these 2 but Crusaders of the Lost Idols is really good too.

Another sad little gem. Lovely.

The thing I like in this game is overall atmosphere with fairytale world and relaxing music. Also some settings are really nicely done such as Enchanted Forrest. It's not Unreal 5 quality but design is really nice. I play it slowly as a single player game without any rush.

Addendum: game uses same tricks as other p2w win games (yeah, it is p2w btw) so after some time after initial levels that come quite fast with many gear dropping from mobs, progression is slowing down so much due lack of XP and abrupt stop of gear drops that you start to have problems with mobs (especially packs; remember insane respawn times?) and quests as you are undregeared. They obviously push you to the shop. But the prices there are so obnoxious high that even most expensive AAA games don't have them. Temporary (sic!) mounts for the price of normal mounts in WoW etc. I can afford to spend money there but I do not want to. Because of the overall quality of the game.

The respawn rates of mobs are very fast so be careful. They respawn seconds after you got loot from them and skin them. Quests are so generic that it hurts: kill 20 mobs at some place, then kill other mobs in same place, then kill other mobs in same place. Not like in other games that you can grab such quests in one go and kill all the mobs in the area for few quests in one go. You have to travel alot from one place to other and then back again to complete quests, same style as in classic wow, but you don't have a permanent hearthstone to use it to be fast back in your base of operations to deliver quests, empty your bags etc. You have teleportation stone that may be used in similar way but those are one use only. Ofc you can buy them from shop. There are teleports in game (as a place) but those are extremely costly as a way to travel for low levels compared to wow - you may get 500 gold from quest and the travel cost to place in SAME zone costs over 300.

You may mitigate abovementioned issues with lack of gear and really low coin drop from quest by gathering resources and selling them through auction house. Even for most basic ones in stack of 100 (lumber etc.) you may get at least 30000 gold coins. You have to pay comission though to make auction. For money you earned from auction house you may buy gear from certain vendors and upgrade it.

You will meet same generic characters as npc all the time. There are thousads of same npcs in the game. Like 10 or 20 same npcs in one location. They will sometimes change their face hair but everything else is identical. Lazy AF :). If you equip new gear it won't be shown on your toon, and I find it lazy AF too :).

You can socket your gear with gems. Same as in wow and other games. Seems fine? No. I tried 3 times to socket gem into weapon. 3 fails in the row. I have lost gems and money. Ofc there is a item you can use to "lower the chances of failure". Available in the shop.

All in all it's not great game but it's free and with friends it may be funny (like other games when you play them with friends). As I noticed there are many russian players in every zone so this game is obviously not dead. They run solo or in groups doing quests. There is some talk on general chat channel too. I got invited to clans and I am in one now and people talk in clan channel but I barely understand it. So living community may be a strong side of this game.

I will still try to get to lev 60 though :) Then I will try compare it to Allods Online, another russian game.

It leaves a great wound in the heart.

I wanted to check this game. But creating tutorial is rocket science for these devs. And that is sad as good tutorial draws players to the game. I started game and only one question came to mind: wtf to do? There are 2 garbage tutorials on youtube with obnoxious music almost so loud as voice of presenter who is rushing to explain game. Yes, rushing. Instead showing slowly gameplay he behaves like he was in hurry to gtfo as fast as possible. Sorry, no.

Art is nice. Board is not.

Totally pay to win. You may check it as the gameplay is nice but without spending money, the wait times of progression are just horrible.

Not to mention these fake chatgpt-style reviews from private accounts with 30 minutes of gameplay praising game with Star Trek or Star Wars comparison; lmao. So obvious fake, maybe Steam should check and remove them.
