Great game, but this somehow manages to be *another* step back from Fromsoft's already mediocre pc porting.

There's no actual pve content beyond a glorified tutorial, but it's a fun 1v1 fighting game.

It's beautiful, the gameplay is great, but ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ do the walking sequences between fights drag on sometimes.

lowest mouse setting forces me to literally spazz everywhere, 0/10

More seriously though the game is genuinely broken if you run it at over 60fps, I literally can't get through the starting cutscene because physics breaks and I go flying into some scenery. Vsync won't help because 144hz and downloading third party stuff to get the game to even let me play at all is just ♥♥♥♥♥♥ from the devs.

Straight up unplayable without a controller.

Not a worse experience (see: dark souls), it's literally impossible to aim at anything other than 45 degree intervals in a game about precisely aiming your bow. Like seriously, what the ♥♥♥♥?

The artstyle manages to balance adorable and badass, progression actually requires skill and not just mindless grinding, and the community is full of nice people.

On the other hand, the weapon balancing is absolutely awful. Half of the weapons in the game (I'd call them the more interesting half, but that might just be because I've used the other extensively) are weak as hell compared to the other half (and they cost the same to build, more or less). Being more or less locked into weapon upgrade paths definitely doesn't help. Oh look, this sword has secondary "ghost" swings that follow the main attack, and its long combos leave me open to being hit back more than other swords! I should pick it if I want to become a glass cannon, right? Wrong, you just end up a glass potato because that sword doesn't actually do more damage (and in most cases, it actually does much less) than more conservative options.

Similarly, defensive armor is pointless as ♥♥♥♥ since it's only like, 20% better than offensive armor (that grants weapon bonuses), and if you get hit regularly you're ♥♥♥♥♥♥ either way- you do not tank in this game, you dodge. Especially dumb is the armor that reduces your movement speed, screwing you over more than it could ever help.

Also, there's no endgame. The devs got bought out by sega before they got to that and since then it's been a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of cosmetics with small content patches every now and then (none of which expand on the giant ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ cliffhanger that has been the story for the past 2 years). The closest thing would be the four dungeons that literally cost multiple times as much to craft the key to as the rewards they grant.

tl;dr: cool but expect to be disappointed at the end
