I apparently have 15 hours in the game.. I've actually played for less than 3 hours lol.. the rest of the time was spent reading "Servers at capacity. Please try again later." :')

Edit - as of Feb 22nd, I'm able to get in to the game instantly! Looks like all queue issues have been solved as all AFK squatters are getting booted after 15 mins :P

Edit 2 - as of May 6th, PSN is NO LONGER REQUIRED. If anyone reads this, PLEASE reverse your negative review.

My heart and soul to Managed Democracy!!

I went into this game completely blind.

I actually thought it was the original P5 story but in an action RPG format. Despite that, I was more than willing to try it out cuz P5 is THAT good (already played that game on PS4).

Much to my pleasant surprise, the story is obviously a continuation of the events of P5 and I love that! I'm always down to get more of the amazing characters. And this game introduces some new and awesome characters too!

The combat also surprisingly works REALLY well! The hack and slach feels satisfying and the mob density in some fights is really good!

A quick note - Don't forget to save MANUALLY. Its been a while since I played P5 and I totally forgot I have to save manually lol. Don't think this game has auto saves at all. So, keep saving! I lost like 3-4 hours of progress cuz I was gaming late at night and forgot to save before I hit the sack.

Overall a easy 8/10 for neutrals.. and a 9/10 if you are a Persona fan (like me)!

This is a brilliant game! Yes, it does have some issues with connectivity, but the gameplay here simply outclasses these minor issues.
The amount of layers this game has is immense, and it is pure joy for me to learn about all these layers.
Moreover, EVERY weapon is viable! There's literally no single meta in this game! All tactics will work as long as you know what you're doing! Like don't take fire weapons to a fire monster.
Overall, this game is amazing, and I just can't wait to farm better gear to kill stronger monsters, and repeat the process over and over! :)

Oh what a gritty game!

Absolutely unforgiving. You make ONE mistake and half your party is dead.

And I love that!

The art style is amazing, and the animations are great. The classes are diverse and combat is pretty challenging. No enemy is a pushover and maintaining your economy is really frikkin hard. Basically, everything is hard in this game, and like I said before, unforgiving.

I even got the Crimson Curse DLC, and man the Crimson Curse is a pain in the ass to deal with. It basically adds a new disease to your heroes which CANNOT BE CURED in the Sanitarium, but ONLY by beating bosses. If one of your heroes contracts this disease, it spreads to the rest of your roster, and this disease is basically a form of Vampirism where the afflicted hereos need to keep drinking a special kind of blood (called The Blood) or else they'll suffer heavy debuffs and eventually die. This DLC adds a whole new dimension to the game, and just serves as a brand new way for heroes to die.

Overall, this is a brilliant game, and I can only forsee myself putting in at least a few hundred hours into it.

AMAZING and GRIM. Just the way I like it! And you will too :)

10/10 my heroes will die again

I'm a huge fan of turn-based combat and JRPG-type games.

This is right up there. Such great art style, awesome animations, great character development and awesome story.

Totally worth the price tag. Really wasn't expecting it to be SO GOOD!

2020 Review:
Yep, I still play this game. Uplay says I have over 3000 hours.

Cons
- NOT new player friendly at all
- The game is as unbalanced as its ever been
- Can't kick players with high ping
- Released a new hero which reeked of pay 2 win (the first time ever in this game)

Pros
- You can press more buttons now, with the CCU changes

Overall Score
On a scale of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ to masterpiece, I give it an absolute, smack down in the middle of average rating of, MEH.

Most people still play this game just cuz they used to the game mechanics and know what to do. New players dont stand a chance unless they like losing over and over. I still play this just cuz I'm good at it, and I've learnt to look past the balancing issues. And dumb complaints from other players like "light spam" and "bash spam" have never bothered me. Offense shouldn't be reactable, its as simple as that.

New Review:

I love this game :P

I was able to get past the connectivity issues.

Now, I'd easily rate it at 8.5/10.

Old Review:

I was soooo pumped up for this game!!

Let's get one thing outta the way first: This game is AWESOME!

Or it could've been.

But alas, Ubisoft strikes again! The random error messages and disconnects have killed the game. I can never play 4v4 Dominion or 4v4 Deathmatch. Always the stupid connectivity error.

Some people have been facing this issue. Some haven't. And you can fall on either boat.

$60 is a too high a price to pay for such uncertainity. Stay your money for now till this game becomes stable.

In short: Awesome game ruined by piss poor connectivity issues.

XCOM2 is - to simply put it - a bloody brilliant game. Sure, it has it's own share of bugs and glitches, but overall it's a superb game, that delivers a great experience.

Pros:
===
1) The modding community for XCOM2 is simply immense, and by itself takes this game to a whole new level.
2) Satiates my need for a good story. The story here quite interesting actually, and keeps you hooked to find out more about the alien's true motives.
3) Great alien and soldier animations.
4) Awesome graphics and colors.
5) Decent variety of solider classes and aliens in the vanilla game. The variety of soldiers and aliens can be increased further increased with some mods.
6) The new stealth mechanics are interesting and feel really cool if you pull it off.
7) Insane customization options thanks to some great mods. I've spent like 2-3 hours (at least) in my current game time just customizing my soldiers to look more badass! Hell, you can even customize the way Skyranger looks!
8) Randomized maps and units cater a unique experience in each playthrough
9) Very high replayability

Cons
===
1) Definitely has some bugs. One bug in particular that annoyed me (happened many times) was that i would hide a soldier behind a wall without any windows and providing full cover, only to find out it wasn't even there. Because, my soldier shot right through it at enemies while in overwatch. So, that was kinda confusing. Other common bugs include unbreakable windows/doors, doors won't open, certain tiles won't right-click from one angle - need to change angles to solve this.
2) Pretty hard. Frikkin hard actually.
3) Acute shortage of many resources mid-late game. Can't build so many of the cool stuff sadly, as aliens barely drop any loot, and even if they do, they vanish in 3 turns (loot reduces gradually per turn upto 3 turns after which it disappears completely). They chalked it up to the fact that alien things are rigged to self destruct. This honestly makes no sense becuse when a soldier picks up the loot, why would it stop self destructing? Also, don't even get me started on the fact that many times when you kill an alien, and it drops loot, it drops it where its surrounded by a ♥♥♥♥ ton of other aliens. Don't worry, you aint getting to that loot in 3 turns. :)

A masterpiece of a game, and a real gem in the turn-based tactical shooter genre. Great story, intriguing characters, and kept me really hooked while making me ache inside as I had to watch my beloved soldiers die in battle - over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over agian.

It's a great game. Go for it!
