Poor performance "by design"; when raising CS1's settings and lowering CS2's to a point where they visually appear identical, CS2's will run terrible and CS1 will run great.

Once you factor established mods into CS1, the novel new building and snapping features that CS2 has natively, will only work marginally better on CS2.

Honestly, just get CS1. Even mod support, which had been removed from the Steam Workshop for CS2, isn't gonna fix this hot steaming pile any time soon.

Don't know, it's not a bad game.. It just plays, feels and looks weird to me, and each time I've tried it I've felt weirdly disgusted. I guess it's captured well in the store trailer though, so if you like that I guess it's fine.

Great game, spent easily 100+ hours on it already. Definitely my favorite in the series.

Absolute garbage launcher, though. Even through Steam, you'll still need Ubisoft Disconnect, and to be signed in to it. If you leave your PC on, and play on a different device (e.g. Steam Deck), it'll force sign you out of the launcher on your PC. You can hack you way around this by always using "offline mode", but then saves won't sync unless you re-enable online mode temporarily, which in turn of course requires the launcher to restart for 20 seconds or so. ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ experience I've ever had, Steam should seriously consider banning such practices.

Nice game, but connects to the server every other action you take, which really ruins the experience and constantly resets your progress.

Codemasters; heck your servers, all we want is to vroom vroom. Just use Steam synced local only savegames already!

Fun game. Had it since I was a Beta backer. If you bought it on Frontier's Site, don't re-buy it here. Simply go to their website at frontierstore.net , sign in, and It'll say "Partner Keys" on the left. Click it, then sign in with your Steam account, and it'll show you a Steam key which you can redeem on your Steam (Games -> Activate a Product on Steam...) to get the Steam Client for free!

(NOTE: You still need an Elite: Dangerous account to sign in with. Simply giving the key to a friend won't do anything!)
