This game has definitelly quite a bit going for it. However there are also quite a lot of things that make the game VERY troubling to play. The two being visuals and controls. Don't get me wrong, you CAN change the keyboard layouts to the most common ones which isn't much of a problem, however you get the ability to do so after a tutorial level.

And oh boy the tutorial needs some rework. The way you get thrown in the game right away is fine on it's own, however the tutorial info will get skipped the frame it would appear, as it shows up the moment you have to make an input, which how the game throws you in right away, you are not prepared to suddenly stop during a rhythm game.

Often the instinct is to just to guess a key on new obstacle and guess if you are right, which in a way you are, but end up being clueless either way. I mainly am talking on the "Middle lane" enemies as well as the ones that switch side and their timing, as well as large ones. Because you can't replay tutorial, that info just gets lost forever.

Another issue I had is the difficulty with just seeing the notes. Sure, up and down might be simple. Yet due to the extreme visual effects (can be disabled, helped a lot but still seeing the map is a pain), how the background and foreground blends in, it becomes difficult to tell when slider comes and anything inbetween.

Alright, I will admit this review is an absolute dumpstertruck, so I'll just TLDR;
Make the game pause a bit BEFORE the note in the tutorial stage or disable input to prevent accidental skipping. It's too sudden to be able to process. Also differenciating between hit and sliders is suprisingly difficult for no good reason. The bar itself blends in too much with the background. As well as dodge obstacles are hard to see as well. Music is a banger tho.

The game is unforgiving, this game is brutal, this game will kill you at any time it wants it.

Yet when opportunity strikes, you just make a ridiculous build that nukes everything including yourself.

Early Access Review
I never reviewed a game so early. Only 9 minutes of playtime.

This game is a dopamine blast. You feel so pro even on the easiest stage, just because you made a wheel go spinny-wee-woo and then clicked at the right time.

It will make you feel like a kid again playing his favourite video game or something. Just give it a go and see for yourself.

Game doesn't feel very beginner friendly. The objective is honestly really confusing and you are not certain what you are supposed to do. Sure, I like the realistic aspect of conserving ammo and aiming for the head... But the level design is pretty bad. Might be bad example, but compare to how left4dead sets up a clear path of what you are supposed to do and where you are supposed to go. Sure... If game goes for full realism then we'd have to find the path ourselves. However the game messes up on giving the player info, especially for new ones.

If you like to get every single keyboard character, capitalized or not upon just launching the game for the first time and waiting 4 solid minutes for the achievements to stop popping up... Then this game is for you.

Also gameplay wise there's nothing much special about this, Expert level isn't that hard and some shortcuts you'd try to make by jumping off the mountain to skip major part of the track, sends you back after some time thinking you fell off the map or something.

Tannenberg is rather an interesting experience.

At first, it is pretty confusing. There's not a dedicated tutorial and screen pop-up explaining things as soon as you join an active game can make you rush through the entire thing. But over time and toying around and looking at options and fiddling with menu you might get hang of it.

I was thrown as a leader of a squad on my first games. I felt bad at first cause I felt like I didn't do anything as I should be doing, I actually didn't know if my squad was just bots, but I still felt guilt about it nontheless.

After time though, I started getting hang of mechanics and understood the controls. It's rather simple, yet I still manage to find some extra features to my advantage few days after. On my way to realise what different squad types do and what strategies I can use.

So, what are my thoughts about this game so far? It is fun. Everyone dies at 1 or 2 shots, you rush out with everyone at once to take over a point. Sometimes being the corpse, but a corpse that helped the rest. And then spawning at newly secured point.

Game can throw some interesting obstacles at me sometimes, be that being under constant fire from HMG while trying to defend our point can be rather adrenaline inducing task. Everything seems like it has a high stake, and you are doing your job to protect the base and bring your team to victory.

I am not a fan of war games and such, but this is definitelly an interesting experience that pushed out patriotic feeling of me to have my comrades succeed while being a grenade throwing meatshield general under bombard from my mortar call. Yes, I may have ridiculous tactics sometimes, but I also trust that my sacrifice will help others.

Like I said, never had that kind of thing in me, I am a team player but not that level of sacrifice to throw away my seconds of gameplay waiting for respawn option for others to win, yet still feeling happy about myself.

Will I go to a war? Definitelly not. Life is important. Will I play that game again? Definitelly yes. Being WW1 ultimate weapon of destruction isn't a one-time experience there.

It crashes from time to time which sucks tho.

I got the game at 100% off, you can tell it was free for a reason.

Incredibly basic and pretty boring, there are 6 stages, to advance to next one you need to survive 30 seconds. Except in last one (more about it later).

Gameplay consists of two arrow keys and 3 buttons. You spin the turret with arrow keys and shoot with specific colour using ZXC. What strikes me is how hard it is to properly aim in this. My friend used controller and it also caused him frustration.

Another thing that struck me is how unfair the game is. Game plays at 16:9 ratio, the kicker is the elements come from all directions at the same time. Sometimes you shoot element at the bottom and another one appears exactly behind you and you don't have enough time to react or even spin fast enough to shoot it. That's what frustrated me the most.
There's also combo apparently where you get it by not missing a shot... But with the innacurate aim all I can do is hold down the correct fire button.

Now, the last level named HELL... To unlock it you need to survive at least 60 seconds on all 5 stages, I did most of them quickly, except 5th cause of reason above. The whole gimmick of it is that you get the actual most brutal epilepsy attack at full screen ever. 60 frames per second. All shapes turn black so there's no need to focus on colours, but it hurts your eyes from staring at the screen for even 10 seconds. I lasted 14 and had to take a break cause it was this bad. Felt like I stared at the sun... Yea, game is kinda "worth" at 100%. But don't bother with last level. It's pretty much the only reason epilepsy warning existed in the first place.
