Days Gone is one of the best games I have played on the Steam Deck. It's an open-world action-adventure game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic. You play as Deacon St. John, an ex outlaw biker who is searching for his missing wife, while fighting against hordes of zombie-like creatures called freakers, basically zombies.

The game has a compelling story, engaging gameplay, and stunning graphics. The Steam Deck runs the game really well, theres lots of options to customise the performance and visuals to your liking. I played it with a mix of medium and high settings, using FSR to upscale the resolution and the manual FPS lock to keep the game at set framerate. The game runs really well on the Steam Deck, with only the occasional dip in FPS here and there.

The game also supports gyro aiming, which can make shooting more accurate and fun (I turned it off). The Steam Deck's touchpads and analog sticks are responsive and comfortable to use, although I had to tweak the aiming sensitivity a bit to make it less sensitive.

Days Gone is a great "survival" game that has plenty of hours of gameplay and entertainment, especially on the Steam Deck. It offers a remarkable experience, whether you're riding your bike through the scenic landscapes and getting Sons of Anarchy vibes, scavenging for resources, or fighting off hordes of freakers all while saving the occasional survivor. It's a game that deserves more attention and praise than it got on its original release.
