A wonderful "open platform" for a party game; Pummel Party is cute, fun, diverse in it's offerings and touts an expansive modding suite.

Democracy prevails!

The four day war against Sony's PSN link by PC Helldivers has been won thanks to all the brave lovers of this game who stood up and made their voice heard. This title is a 2024 premiere and truly a breath of fresh air. It boasts attentive developers, lots of content always rolling out, commanded teamwork and skilled. It puts respect on the "live service" model, even for as minuscule the numbers are of games that could. If you're in the market for a badass PvE co-op title with passionate love from it's developers and bright future ahead, look no further!

I'm big into boomer shooters and while the Champion/Hero system of this game is divisive to many oldschool fans of the series, the system in itself isn't what killed the game for me. What DID was the ball busting microtransaction system and the amount you're expected to pay for a sizable enough roster to feel like you're getting a complete game experience. With a permanently limited map pool (there's no mod support for this game) your long term replayable angle will be in Champion variety. Each Champion is unlocked one at a time with predatory funbucks, same with any add-on content such as cosmetics. They even insist you pay them $10 just to change your screenname and that's pathetic. All of their obtuse crap nets you a disjointed game experience and commands immense patience to navigate it's storefront. Even with all it offers for the spendhappy, this game's offerings still can't compete with the wealth and enrichment of custom content for the past Quake games which play essentially the same as this. The only thing this game gives you in exchange for all it's greed is a nicer coat of paint.

Just look up a gameplay video of it on youtube to be sure of what it looks like before purchasing. It's admittedly less vibrant in-game than the display picture, but I personally enjoy it. Much better than the universal purple you could buy with renown.

Cry of Fear is moody, atmospheric and deliciously macabre. It's fun to play, has lots of weapons, plenty of environments, gorgeous soundtrack, a coop survival mode that kicks butt (that I play by myself) and an overall essence that harmonizes well with depression. If you can handle a nice fright, I think Cry of Fear might be for you.
