Cats. Crafting. Quests. Lots of Quests. I like quests. Cozy. Farming. Mining. Fighting. Magic. Invite Villagers. Help out the nature sprites. Town building. Similar mechanics to bits of SDV, Animal Crossing, Littlewood, Sun Haven, My Time At Portia/Sandrock. Relaxed game but not boring. There are still some game mechanics to smooth out and maybe some UI stuff that could improve, but I've been seeing very regular patches/updates since 1.0. So far, it's a very playable game for me. Keeps my ADHD brain hooked without getting angry at bugs/missing content, etc. Enjoy.

Early Access Review
I'm often cautious about purchasing early access games as I feel there generally isn't enough content and performance polish to keep me engaged for long.

This game pleasantly surprised me. I've had a hard time finding a cozy game that hooks me and this one does! It's a good balance of chill (go at your speed) and interesting game mechanics and story.

Loves:
- Character creation - lots of variety

- Home decorating/improving - I haven't gotten far on this and don't know how much content if available for this yet. I haven't upgraded my house yet and not sure if that's possible yet.

- Graphics/art style - cute/cartoony/pretty

- Crafting has similar vibes to My Time at Sandrock/Portia - very enjoyable. I feel like finding oil for crafting certain things is a bit of a grind.

- NPCs are cute and have an Animal Crossing Vibe - you help them pick their house, assign them jobs as you open up the different shops (which they can be good at or horrible at which will affect how much money you make on tourism days when tourists visit your island), buy things from them when they offer, accept quests from them (getting them clothes, furniture, etc.). You can visit neighboring islands to find random castaways and invite them to your island after completing their quest.

- There's a quest line that keeps me intrigued-- mostly just building up / improving your island. Lots of quests for building things for island improvement.

- Underwater scavenging for resources/treasure is fun. Requires maintaining/improving scuba gear.

Hopes:
- Eager to go inside villager homes (not an option at the time of this review, but will be)

- Less grinding for some resources like oil? Maybe I am just bad at it and need to improve how I go about it/find it?

- Improve the jumping function. Sometimes jumping/climbing up things is wonky.

- Pets? I want that axolotl. Maybe that's an option and I haven't got there yet. Maybe it'll be like Animal crossing where I collect it from fishing and put it in my home.

- More home customization.

- More quests for island improvement and with villagers and more interesting villager interactions (I fully expect this to come as game develops).

The game is still very early on in early access, however, I find there is a lot to do despite this and it's engaging. I'm impressed with the content this early on. I'm excited to watch this game develop as I can only see it continuing to improve. Fun game!

I'll echo what others have said: Adorable Game. Loved all the animal conversations and quests, collecting hats to put on my kitty, exploring the city, and pestering faceless humans. The controls are a little janky off and on but not too bothersome. Easy, relaxed, and engaging game play. Cute and bright art/graphics.

I wish the game was a little longer. I think $15 - $20 dollars would be my preferential price for this game based on length of game (even with 100% completion). I still recommend this game.

Virtually and energetically connect with other people and share love. Uplift and support and be uplifted and supported. Enjoy soothing music and receive delightful stickers. Decorate your room to match your tastes. Pegasus kitty on my bed. Coffee mug on my desk is always warm. Very well-moderated, No trolls. Cute deer delivers your mail. Mental health resources link provided. 10/10 recommended.

Early Access Review
Updated 2024 Review:

I realized I never updated my review post 1.0. This is by far one of the best RPGs I have ever played (with Larian's DOS2 in my top 5-10 as well...these people just know how to make games). Great game mechanics; engaging turn-based battle mechanics (people get creative. I've seen people just use world objects or barrels to fight battles and beat the game); storyline/story building; multiple endings/ways to do things; rewarding non-hero "evil/neutral" play-throughs --no play-through is ever the same; immersive world and ability to interact with pretty much anything in the world; cinematic interactions everywhere you turn (that you can skip if you are that person); GORGEOUS music/ambiance; amazing voice actors (everyone is voice acted and I LOVE the narrator's voice); fantastic graphics, incredibly interesting NPCs/party members with engaging backgrounds, interactions, and opportunities for development...and sexy times if wanted; gratifying to play multiplayer and single player; incredibly detailed character customization (though being able to change body shape of different races would be cool..but there's tons of mods for that); etc. etc. Also, you know, D&D 5e mechanics and who doesn't love that?

This is a groundbreaking RPG and not even AAA title companies have produced something like it. You buy the game once and you have all the content. No billions of DLCs to purchase to make the game feel complete (looking at you Sims 4 /EA Games...I'm still so very wounded by you). No in game content purchases. This is a very good game and if you are reading this and somehow haven't played this game yet, just get the game. What are you even doing? No, don't hold off for the upcoming Dragon Age game -- you have time to save up for that later. Get this one NOW! I like this game even more than Dragon Age Origins and I LOVED that game. So, off you go to play!

2022 Review
I play every time a big patch drops (i.e. new classes, etc.). I hyper-focus for several hours and thoroughly enjoy myself. I still screw up romancing Gale and it makes me mad (I don't want to have to kill him/let him die to trigger a cut scene that will let me romance him). Also, I want to advance past lvl 4, pls. After thoroughly enjoying the new class and newish content/try to pick different options than I usually do, I stop playing for a bit so I don't get bored until the next big patch...or full release. I'm so ready for full release. I believe it will be a groundbreaking RPG, one of the best we've seen in a long time and I'm thirsty for it. For now, I scour steam for an interesting farming sim.

Early Access Review
I love this game. It's everything I've been looking for since Stardew Valley. JUST WANT COMPLETED GAME PLZ.

Early Access so far:
Engaging, romanceable characters with interesting personalities (hello Doc Wornhardt).
Fun Combat system -- I shoot fireball at everything.
Fun Story line.
THE PETS ARE CUTE.
The "farm" animals are cute.
The mounts are cool.
The different areas are cool.
I love the different races and cultures within the different locations.
Side quests are fun (quest boards in each city).
You can focus on whatever you like and pick specific perks/specs as you level certain skills up (exploration, combat, farming, cooking, fishing, mining, etc.).
House is upgradable and lots of fun furniture to purchase.
I'd love to see more furniture crafting options -- this seems pretty limited so far.
I'm just ready for more content!

This game is so incredibly cute and simple and that's pretty much all it goes for. Controls were easy and smooth. Art was adorable. Game play was fun and easygoing. Nothing clunky. I did fall under the ground once as I glitched out trying to land my giant bird I was riding, but they have a teleportation potion always available and that fixed it immediately. The magic is fun. I LOVED the music. The characters are fun and simple. Some of the quests and walking from one place to the next got was a little mundane, but overall it was super fun and cute. I enjoyed decorating my cafe, cooking some baked goods, and collecting all the adorable pets. I loved using the potions (especially making critters giant or small). I LOVE CATS. haha. It's a short game but worth the price and experience. I'd love to see more of this game -- romancing characters, more depth to the characters, more magic to learn, crafting, fishing, more interaction / taming / content with the animals, farming, maybe help building up other locations / businesses / cities would be cool. More engaging quests, etc. But, if you are just looking for some relaxation, cute cats and other critters, and no stressful time limits, this game is for you! This isn't the game for you if you are looking for a true farming sim like Stardew Valley/Harvest Moon/Littlewood/etc.

This game is fantastic. I love games like Stardew Valley and I love cats. That's kind of what this is. Fun/interesting story. Fun characters. Romance. Kittens. Mining, hunting, fighting for your colony. Daily Tasks and a main questline to restore the sacred temple. I like it so far! It's wholesome and fun.

Update: I finished the main quest line (sacred temple) and began creating my own colony, which has been really fun. I stopped playing shortly after this. I kind of want to play it all over again-- as it's been a year or so now -- and I'd like to go further with my own colony creation. I still love this game and I'm excited for the sequel coming 2023.

I love this game. It's the first MMO since original EQ and WoW I have enjoyed. I'm not a hardcore MMO player. I just enjoy questing and the story line. I also love the Elder Scrolls Games, so this was a win for me. The combat system is really action-oriented. I love there there is no cool downs for abilities--you just need to manage your mana/stamina. You can quest in any area at any level, so you don't have to get bored with questing in the same areas again if you keep restarting and creating new characters like I have in the past. I love the races and the classes are fun. The questing is immersive and I don't find myself skipping quest giver's dialogue. I love the graphics and art too. The cartoony look of WoW always kind of bugged me. The graphics are beautiful in 4k lol, and I like the more realistic, darker look which this game provides. Also, the add ons. Like Skyrim, you can enjoy addons to customize your game. I do not have ESO plus-- I do not pay monthly for any perks in this game. Sometimes, I will spend crowns if I want a fancy new mount or a dlc/expansion. I don't feel like I am at any disadvantage while gaming even though I do not have an ESO Plus membership. That is huge for me. There's a lot more I could probably say about this game with more thought. It's' a great game and the best MMO out there right now in my opinion.
