not perfect, but a worthy sequel of sorts to the now-classic Zeno Clash games! Patricio Meneses' score is excellent as always too

combat is solid & satisfying, however the endgame gets very easy. however it's pretty satisfying smashing enemies that used to be a PITA!
the ritual mechanic is fun, but it's a shame enemies never invoke it on the player, & later in the game it's very difficult to win

another positive is great art and worldbuilding as always! while it's a bit "sanitized" vs. the other two Zeno Clash games, it still very much feels like Zenozoik

the map is large and doesn't have any fast travel, but it's easy and fun to traverse
However navigation can be confusing & needs better signposting, I got lost in some areas for ages before finding the obvious-in-hindsight way forward.
there's also a lot of backtracking, especially in the later part of the game and it gets very tiring - especially when getting lost on where to go! Don't 100% finding every night armor piece etc. unless you're an achievement hunter, it only adds to the fatigue

the plot is a bit thin and there's large chunks of gameplay before the story moves forward, but it's enough to keep things moving.

there's also some unfortunate bugs such as prompts or bosses not appearing, necessitating a save reload or sleeping/waking up to reload the world

I could go on, but TL;DR
definitely recommended when on sale - Clash has its flaws, but it's still a lot of fun and the land of Zenozoik is endlessly captivating!

Early Access Review
this game has a giant hand come from the sky and start finger-blasting the ground
and yonic elevators, which also get fingered by giant hands
and moaning Meat Holes that bite off your fingers
and a flamethrower ♥♥♥♥ 'n' balls
and a talking bicycle that wants you to piss on him & "examine" his prostate
and a 9-legged lady that wants to piss on *you*
and at least one giant statue of nudes "doing some kind of yoga"
and a Meat Spear, which has found me

Excellent game, it's challenging without being infuriating, and the art & music are simple but really charming
The story elements are just as fun and has a great sense of humor throughout!

Great music, fantastic art, and brutally difficult and rewarding gameplay! Each death encourages you to try again with different tactics and to try and press on just to the next save point

A true classic that stands up to this day with a near-infinite number of mods and maps available.
Definitely recommend, although I'd recommend playing it through GZDoom or the likes for a more modern experience.

Short and punchy (in both senses of the word); top notch world building and silly satisfying combat

A surreal 10/10

Although it has a horrible reputation (and, to be completely honest, rightly so), if you get this game on sale, it is actually a pretty good puzzle game, and the glitchiness is more amusing than problematic. I got it for 19 cents, and for that price, I can't complain-you get a couple of hours of buggy and challenging puzzles that have a decent soundtrack, and it makes an excellent gag gift.
