This is a vast expansion of the first game. More mechanics, more weapons, more enemies, more strategies, more characters, more EVERYTHING. And in my opinion at a higher level of polish than the first. The voice acting is beautiful, the writing is engaging and engrossing, the art is sublime in every way (at least what's finished). The gameplay has a higher learning curve that might turn fans of the first game off, as it frontloads the difficulty level a decent amount, but once you get your weapons and their synergies down, you'll have to crank up the difficulty to lose a run.

I'm so excited to experience the other 20% or so of the game when it is finished. That's the only downside to this EA. It's practically an alpha release, but perhaps the greatest alpha release of all time? I can see some balancing of current mechanics, buffs, nerfs, redesigns, sure. But for what IS here? Easily worth the full price of admission.

The mods available for this game do what the devs couldn't. They update and modernize the playing experience, are easy to install, and are completely free. This game came into my life at a very strange time. I was about 11 when i purchased it new in 2003 with the bgm cd package. I still have that copy and the cd! I've beaten this game many times over and getting to experience it in 60fps, upscaled resolution, and with modern QoL updates has reinforced its place in my heart. In my opinion, this is a top 10 game all time. Top 5 for me personally. Buy it on sale with the dlc, you will not regret it.

If you have that pseudo-nostalgic feeling about diablo II, but tried revisiting it recently and found it lacking, this game might just scratch that itch. It is extremely grindy, drawn out, and punishingly difficult, but I can't help but feel like it's one of the absolute cream of the crop offerings in the bullet heaven genre. I love this game so much.

Since 100%ing what the game has to offer, I feel like this particular bullet heaven is EXTREMELY well done and nicely polished. Is it a grind to get the best possible setup for your characters? sure, but why shouldn't it be? What you have to look forward to is a satisfying sense of progression, figuring out the best meta, and challenging yourself on Ragnarok V (until further difficulties are released). The developers frequently update the game and I look forward to playing this game far in the future!

This game is unbelievably good. I'm going to put it on the backburner simply because I'd like to experience everything possible at a proper pace (everything in-game feels like its rushing you along when it could easily be just as engaging at 1/2 the rate of STUFF going on). I just have a couple tasks to complete, then it's exploration. I figure if I wait until release, I'll at least have some progression mechanics to go along with what I've already finished.

Finally completed my first run (with malphon, zeus attack, a bunch of poseidon stuff, and demeter cast)! Shamelessly using god mode, but hey, I'd rather experience the game without having to grind the encounters a bunch. It's near perfect. I'll of course be 100%ing it, in due time, but for now it's an easy 10/10. visually delightful, unbelievable sound design and ost, addictive gameplay mechanics in exceptionally different ways. Compelling characters, compelling dialogue, and massive replayability. If you haven't yet, you NEED to play this game.

The game is very fun. I think the dev has done a truly admirable job of making their game feel unique and full of personality. Everything feels crisp with just the right amount of animation that keeps the game from falling into the pile of cookie cutter bullet heavens. There is plenty to do and see, a bunch of viable builds, and lots of challenge. All of that for 3 bucks? A steal.

The sound design is abysmal and i had to mute everything 5 minutes into playing. The visuals feel cheap (sorry artists that worked hard on this). Otherwise a perfectly fine game. Lots to do, lots to grind, not as fast flowing or as easy to dominate as vampire survivors, but that's absolutely ok if you know going in. Only complex in its volume. If you are a min maxer in a bunch of games, you'll pick up pretty quickly on what's good and what to prioritize in the web and upgrade system. 70-75 out of 100 is right where i'd rate it and about what you're seeing on the player review conglomerate. Absolutely delightful little game worth every penny. I wouldn't complain if the devs (dev?) charged 10 bucks let alone the couple bucks it's going for now, almost literally a steal in entertainment value. The game is constantly being updated with new playable characters, items, levels, and apparently challenges and game modes are coming in the (more than likely near) future.

My only complaint is that there's no real challenge after you understand what makes the best builds, but hey, that'll change in a few updates. I'm positive.
