Life is Strange: Double Exposure starts off strong, with an engaging plot and well-crafted characters that capture the spirit of the original series. The American university setting, along with impressive visuals and expressive character animations, help create an immersive game world. However, these positive impressions begin to fade toward the end.

After a promising beginning, the plot loses focus, introducing elements that either go undeveloped or feel inconsistent. The game largely disregards key emotional choices from the original installment, particularly for players who saved Chloe, who now find the bond between Max and Chloe abruptly severed. Chloe never truly reappears, leaving me feeling disrespected, as if my choices and the original character personalities were dismissed.

Another major issue is the handling of romantic options. New character flirtations feel forced, even when the player indicates a preference for friendship. These interactions come across as artificial and sometimes intrusive, further detracting from the narrative experience.

While Double Exposure offers strong visuals and an excellent soundtrack, its story ultimately lacks coherence and direction, especially in its later chapters. I suggest the series comics as a continuation that feels more faithful to the original story, and I hope the next installment will bring back the authenticity and emotional depth that defined the first games.
