This has quickly turned into a favorite game of mine. I have always liked city builders and 4x strategy games, but always found my interest waning as the game went on and the exploration was over. Against the Storm is perfect for that. I get to replay my favorite part of a strategy game over and over. The randomization elements make it feel fresh and are just enough to make me pivot or try a new route.

Also as a father with kids, I can sit down and finish a game in two to three sessions, upgrade my keep, and feel like I've accomplished something. It scratches the itch for a bit of strategy with the perfect blend.

The world and thematic elements are amazing as well.
