I had so much fun playing this game with friends, we played for over 100 hours in total so far.

The suspense of a monster coming up and splitting up your team, you then getting lost in the maze, but continuing on to gather the objectives while you're at it, now having to deal with monsters alone in the dark, then finally eventually running into one of your friends after 5 minutes of wandering around, really happy to see them, is such a great thing to experience.

This game is the first one that made me enjoy horror games. But rather than a horror game, I like to think of this game as an adventure game more about exploration. It's also nice that as you play maps, especially if you get stuck in them long enough, you trigger the parts of your brain responsible for mapping, starting to memorize familiar areas as you get attached to them. It's an interesting feeling.

Oh, also one must not underestimate the amount of laughs you get when you or your teammate screams when a monster surprises one of you. As long as you're playing using the proximity voice chat which I highly recommend.

Note my recommendation for the minimum number of players for the campaign:
Case 1 -- 1 player
Case 2 -- 2 players
Case 3 -- 1 player
Case 4 -- 3 players (or 2 players if one of them is experienced)
Case 5 -- 4 players (or 3 players if one is experienced)
Case 6 -- definitely 4 players
