in the state that its in now i would highly recommend. I only experienced a couple of bugs and neither of them were gamebreaking. i had a single crash, throughout the entire session. the story is amazing, heartbreaking, and thrilling. truly stress inducing at times, with enemies that are actually smart. the looting system is fun, and while conserving your ammo is a great idea the game doesnt feel like youre completely starved of it at all times. its great comparing the show to the game and what parts you think are done better.

long story short, if you want to play a completely broken and awful game, but have friends to laugh at it with, buy the game. only if it's on sale for like 1-2 cents tho. dont want to give the devs too much money now.

Me, being a huge fan of both the post-apocolyptic genre, and Fallout 3, freaked out when I heard of Fallout: New Vegas. I worked up the dough to buy it, and bought it I did. Ultimate Edition is the only way to go.

So, I booted it up, started it, and sat there, biting my fingernails. I did the same thing you did in Fallout 3, made and named your character, (Mine being as ugly as can be and being named Assface McGee, also unintentional rhyming!) put points into S.P.E.C.I.A.L., etc etc. When I finally made it out of the shack you start in, I walked straight ahead and never looked back on the little starting town called Goodsprings. That's the amazing thing about the Fallout series: It's completely open! You can ignore the storyline and just go around popping Deathclaws in the face with your 50 cal sniper rifle, or you can bargan with merchants to get better and better gear. You can almost literally do whatever you want from the very start of the game. I haven't quite played another game that felt like this.

Final verdict: It is a game WELL worth your 20 bucks. It's a gaming experence you can never truly forget.
