I own and use Godot elsewhere, but I think it deserves a good review on here.

Godot is great for a variety of reasons, but here's my personal experience:

Godot is fantastic for cross-platform work. Godot uses .pck files to store ALL your data (scripts, images, scenes, etc.), which (on top of making mods/DLC really easy) allows you to port the engine almost anywhere without hassle. Windows, Mac, Linux, Raspberry Pi, as long as someone has at least compiled the editor for that platform, your game can run there. And it usually works without needing to account for cross-platform difficulties that you usually experience. This approach also means that *Godot* is itself a Godot game[docs.godotengine.org].

The fact that Godot is open source is fantastic, as it makes debugging or figuring out issues with the engine so much easier. If I notice a bug in one version, someone has most likely fixed it in the next. Godot's openness allows for features like GDExtension, which is amazingly powerful for extending the engine in ways the maintainers might not even consider.

Godot is also very performant, responsive, and hardly ever crashes. At least, during my use. It's something that the contributors of Godot explicitly design for[docs.godotengine.org], and I'm glad they do. I can't count how many times I was relieved during playtesting that something broke, but the game just kept on moving.

Ultimately, I think Godot is a fantastic choice, and I really am looking forward to what's coming down the pipeline. Typed Dictionaries are next[github.com]!

I finished this game in just under an hour, and it's the best under an hour I could have asked for. I only wish there was more of this game, which I see is the plan. So yay! Looking forward to it.

Early Access Review
Stole someone's gun that they used to murder 2 people. After their spouse found me looting their home I panicked and attacked them with it. Arrested the killer, but now I can never go back to that apartment building because the alarms are constantly ringing and I will be shot on sight if I ever enter the building.

... which is funny, because now I'm living in the basement, so I have to run to the doors so the turrets don't kill me.

Love the simulation, it's great.

It's short, but I enjoyed it as a visualization of hyperbolic geometry!

It's funny, it's clever. If you like Lucas Arts style adventure games, get it.

Awesome. I already beat the game and I want to play it again. The amount of crazy stuff you can do is unbelievable.
