Very inspiring, or very realistic, depending on the ending you get. Recommended to visual novel fans, just keep in mind that the game is very, very short and can be completed in an hour or so.

Who Murdered My Empress? is an isekai/transmigration into a villainess story. The villainess part was not obvious to me, at first, but it's there. In terms of romance, there's only one LI, not counting the non-canonical (?) extras. The adult content is very mild, to the point that it makes me question the necessity of the game being adults-only, but YMMV. No actual mystery-solving. Very linear, with some immediate game overs. Emphasis on food in places, so keep that in mind if it matters to you. The text could be edited to flow more naturally, but since English is not my native language, I'm not supposed to complain about this. Overall, worth reading if you're an otome fan. Also check out My Vow to My Liege if you liked Empress.

If you're thinking of not playing this game because of the speedrun achievement, don't worry! It's the most relaxing speedrun ever. Take all the time you want, it'll still count as long as you finish the level (hints are disabled, however). Your completion time is recorded. Find the cats faster next time! If you want, of course.

Adds a second map/level with 155 cats to find. In addition, 25 jigsaw puzzle pieces are scattered across both levels. Find them all to complete the picture, which is lovely. The photo mode works in the DLC level, too. Have fun taking pictures of (even more) cats and coloring them!

Very nice. Lots of clickable pettable cats, changeable colors, adjustable brightness to save our eyes, several tunes to find cats to, other things to find and click, cat lore (names and descriptions). And the cats are actually difficult to find! A must-play for all cat find-a-thon enthusiasts!

EXPERIMENT #31
OBJECTIVE: Evaluation of the newly-released visual novel Experimentation
DATA AND METHODS: Bought on Steam and read through in under an hour
RESULTS: Mixed to negative as the game is too short for the plot(s) to develop properly, not that great narrative-wise, and there are ~3 CGs, not counting the one that's also the game's cover image
CONCLUSION: Underwhelming
FOLLOW-UP/FURTHER RESEARCH: Wait for a lower price or skip altogether.

(Confession: I backed this game on Kickstarter.)

Lovely game; well worth the wait. Easy to read, very fun and light-hearted, with just the right amount of drama. Character interactions are gold. Definitely recommended to VN fans.

The only drawback is that there are no achievements. Otherwise, I have no complaints!

"Nice to meet you!" say the goblins, making me feel slightly bad for shooting them in the teeth. This was the most heartwarming experience I've had in a video game recently, so Chop Goblins is worth it for that alone. Other worthy features: Nospurratu, a hellish crossover of Chomper and those flaily Horrors from Dusk, a goblin zapper/swatter wand that causes CULTIC-esque slo-mo explosions and gibbification, Dracula's bossfight aria, shiny collectible coins, many pressable and shootable buttons revealing satisfying secrets, and edible food with drinkable drinks, including wine, all accompanied by an ear-wormy soundtrack. Overall, very worthwhile, I want more goblins and/or chopping.

Researcher Notes #28

He did it. No science can explain this.

A really fun retro FPS, which is not in Early Access.

The deafening sound of dynamite thrown at cultists, the screams, the headshots, the explosions, the blood and gore. Often in slow motion. A great selection of (upgradable) weapons, all fun and satisfying to use. Even Especially the flamethrower. The molomite dynamite+Molotov combo, an absolute pyromaniac’s delight. Explosive barrels, explosive lamps, grenades. Lots of explosive action, frantic dodging, and shooting, interspersed with slower sequences of waiting for enemies to come closer or shooting them from a distance. All accompanied by a great soundtrack.

All of this in ten missions set in varied and (mostly) believable locations. The pixelly environments (and enemies, and weapons, and explosions) look stunning, if not outright gorgeous. Even the found notes are interesting to read! Plus, there are quicksaves, accessibility options, and an up-to-date demo.

This is not just a game inspired by Blood and Resident Evil 4. This is its own thing. And it’s fantastic.

(Looking forward to Chapter 2.)
