Wonderful remaster. If you played the game before, it's the exact same game but with better graphics and some quality of life improvements. If you never played the original Oblivion, this game is not a competitor to modern AAA titles. The controls are funky, the NPCs and horses are janked up, and everything seems a bit stiff. Other than cosmetics and a few tweaks, this game is exactly as it was when it came out 20 years ago, glorious and ridiculous.

It runs poorly on my PC, which is no slouch. It defaulted to High settings at start up and ran great until I left the dungeon. Any outdoor space is going to test your PC to the max. I have my settings on Medium now and performance is acceptable (~65fps outdoors with DROPS). I really hope that gets improved. For the curious: 1440p monitor, NVIDEA 3070ti, AMD 5900x, 32gb RAM, M2 ssd. For comparison, I can play cyberpunk on high settings and average 90fps. It would run much better at 1080p, I suspect.

If you're a diehard fan you'll probably want this, but I have a hunch Skyblivion will be a good competitor and I fully intend to explore that when it comes out. I bought this simply because I could and I do recommend it overall to people like me, but It's not worth the price for a new player. I loaded the original Oblivion up a couple weeks ago just because I was feeling nostalgic. It was great, but I caught myself thinking I wish I had my old mods that made it look nicer and fixed bugs. Installing mods isn't exactly hard, but it is a pain in the butt, and almost as soon as I started down the path I quickly realized I didn't want to spend a few days downloading and tweaking and adjusting just to enjoy the game. Then all of the sudden this just drops in our laps like candy from heaven. Now I can spend $60 for a beautified version far exceeding what mods could have done without watching youtube videos about getting meshes to play nicely. Sold. Just be aware you are buying a 20 year old game with heavy makeup and demanding spec requiremnts.

Really solid, bare-bones shooter game. You pick a map, game style, weapons and vehicles, then play. If you grew up on single player shooters like quake and unreal tournament, it's a lot like that. Scratches the itch of shooting NPCs while playing capture the flag or other game modes.
The base game is solid but feels basic, so go to the workshop and check out the mods. There's tons. Lots of maps, weapons, vehicles, character models, and more. Make it a Star Wars experience, or recreate WW2 battles, or fight like vikings. If you enjoy a customizable fighting experience without other people, this game is a lot of fun. Closest multiplayer game would be Battle-Bit, if you want a comparison
I got this game not long after it launched on steam early access. It has been in development for a long time and does not promise to provide a story-mode experience. Never the less, I find it to be a fun and relaxing game to play if I want to quickly jump into some fun.

Fun relaxing game. I play solo and enjoy it. There's always more to find and explore.

This game is a good combo of RTS and Tower Defense. There are many levels, each with several different strategies to completion giving you a lot of replayability. The gameplay is well balanced, providing a good challenge while being fun. I recommend Thronefall to any fan of the genre.

Over forty hours in and still plenty to explore and do. If you're a fan of the Fallout or Elder Scrolls games you'll enjoy this, too. Yes, many of the criticisms levied at this game are valid, but it plays no different than Skyrim or FO4. If you enjoyed the weird quirks of those games you'll find them all here again in Starfield. I've encountered no serious bugs so far and not a single backwards-flying dragon.

There really is a lot to do and explore. I've put in a lot of time and I feel like I've barely scratched the surface. The number of quests available in this game is staggering, you could spend a lifetime in here. Once you get yourself oriented with how the game works you can follow the main quest or just head out into the stars. I highly recommend this to fans of Bethesda or anyone who likes a big open-world RPG.

The biggest failing to me is the poor performance. You need a beefy system to enjoy high graphic settings. There are some good guides on tweaking settings for the best performance, and the game does look really good on high settings, but players on modest PCs or laptops may have to play at potato quality until there's a performance update. I play with mostly high settings and the game really is beautiful, but I've really had to cut back more than I expected for decent performance.

After a lot of tweaking in-game settings, the lowest FPS I get is 40 in the dense part of cities. Outside exploring is usually 50-70 depending on the environment. Anywhere indoors like ships, buildings, or space stations I get 90+.

AMD Ryzen 7 3700X
ASUS TUF X470-PLUS GAMING
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti 8GB

Samsung SSD 980 PRO 2TB

Summary:
Yes for $16, no for $30. They made about $16 worth of improvements on this game and now I'm enjoying it far more than the first time around.

I enjoyed the original game, but always felt the environment was rather lackluster considering the polish of other games releasing at the time. I played for a while and enjoyed the story, but eventually stopped because it was visually not very attractive. Other reviewers say you can achieve similar results with the original and mods. That's cool, I do a lot of modding, but I'm happy to pay $16 so I don't have to fuss with it. While the re-release is certainly no where near current games graphics-wise, the update does make the game much more attractive and, for me, fun to play.

So why is it not worth $30? It still has bugs present in the original and the graphical update isn't much more than an hd re-skinning with some new weapon and lighting effects. I would expect more for the $30 price tag.

Worth the early access price.

Gunfire Reborn a first-person rogue shooter. While the game has plenty or work left before it's done, the core game play is solid. You travel through stages with progressively more difficult enemies. After you inevitably die, you upgrade skills with points you earn while playing, making the character more powerful and able to go further on the next run.

It will take a while before you can beat the first boss. Don't be discouraged, you have to level up a bit but eventually you won't have too much trouble. At first I thought the progression was too slow, but after playing for a while I think it's actually pretty good.

Gun-play is excellent and fairly will balanced. Weapons look good and feel good to use. More weapons are unlocked as you play at a satisfying rate and the variety is really cool. Weapons can have enhancements that increase their damage potential or cause other effects.

There isn't much to dislike other than it's not finished. I'd like more level design variety, better mechanics for jumping and climbing on objects, and the ability to crouch. Otherwise everything is solid and I can't wait to see this game develop further.

This game is simply outstanding.

I picked Avorion up on sale for $15 a little impulsively. It's got your standard space stuff like trading, mining, and fighting, and it's got a bunch of good reviews. The spaceflight simulation genre of games has always been my personal favorite and I feel I have reasonably high standards for space games I like to play. So is this game worth it among the legions of space games on steam? Well, I haven't played a single other game on my pc since I picked this up.

What sets Avorion apart from the rest is you build your own ship. Each ship you create and add to your fleet can be custom designed by you, or picked from designs provided in the game. In order to build your ships you need resources and money. So you mine. Then you build a ship to mine for you. Then a few more. Then you claim a large asteroid and build a station there. You move deeper into the galaxy (an outrageously huge map!) for better resources and better construction options. You make your ships stronger, tougher, and add shields. Create another station that builds parts you want and trades with your other station. Profit. Use the money to enhance your fleet. Move deeper into the galaxy...

Next thing you know you're 82 hours in and you've only had the game for two weeks.

My complaints are that the menu system is a bit of a mess, it's hard to find information on the specifics of game mechanics, and moving your fleet is clunky, especially when you've got ships in different sectors. However, this game is still in development and I'm sure these are all things they are working on. None of it detracts from the overall playability of this game.

Completely filled with racists. A simple ban for using racial slurs is too much for Triternion to bother with. Really fun game, but much of the user base is bigoted garbage that can't help but spam the chat with racist crap. It's hard to keep playing with all the sewage spilling forth.
