The enhanced edition is getting a lot of bad reviews but I don't think the public is being fair. It is a lot better with bugs, compared to the original WITHOUT the Zone Reclamation Project and 1.0008 unofficial patches, with patches the original has less bugs.
My problems with it are that anything that remotely references Russia or the USSR was removed, and that the difficulty balance is different in ways that don't "feel right", The Garbage has easily five times more enemies spawning in, you get no peace and all the non-hostile npcs will eventually be killed by the unending waves of new enemies.
The blurriness that most people are complaining about when aiming down sights is fine by me, I think it helps immersion.

Intolerably buggy.

I cannot give this a positive review because it does not work as purchased.
With that said, getting it working is a relatively simple process, look up GenPatcher, by Legionnare, and GenLauncher by PaL_Ser, they are simple to run fan projects that will get the games running on current Windows versions.

The game crashed on every cinematic. You have to modify the settings file just to run it and it still will crash when you build the secret projects.

Pure, high-grade Eurojank, 8/10.

It's a good game, but the concept of it is held back by some faults in execution, specifically VERY BAD program optimization and limited User Interface.
The UI doesn't show as much information as would be needed and lists can't be sorted by the factors in the columns, for instance, when searching for a country to invest in, one cannot sort the list alphabetically, the order seems random and it's necessesary to search the whole list for it.
The graphics do not need to be anything impressive, it's not what games like this are about or the people that play them are looking for, the UI is basically just a bunch of ledgers that compile information and items, yet my CPU (Ryzen 7 4800H, 16Gb ram) and GPU (Radeon RX 5600m) temps go very high when playing (up to 93° celsius), the fans are at full speed the whole time and it has caused crashes.

Nobody has time for this.

Like Diablo 2 in space.
